Another RA2 problem

Recommended Posts

Guest Rabbit

I have a windows XP professional... I installed and play Yuri's revenge, but, for some reason, i cant play RA2 at all. I insert the disk, the screen comes up asking what you want to do, I click play, it dissapears, and nothing happens... It just acts like I didn't do anything, and the computer is sitting there...

Any Idea why?

Right click on your desktop short cut for RA2 and select Properties. Go to the Compatiblity tab and chose to run the game in Windows 98/Window ME compatiblity mode.

yea, i gave up on trying to get YR to work on XP. I tried creating ISOs and mounting them on alcohol 120%, i tried running it from the disc, and making sure it was updated. Nothing worked

I don't get it though, why would YR work, but not RA2?

it should work fine, unless your graphics card is that crappy.

Get the latest patch (right here @ CNCNZ) install it to your RA2/YR directory, then put in disk and play.

Get rid of any weird mods or XP patches you have:

1: You dont need them

2: They're probably screwing with your game, and its too busy to play right now

I found out the problem, you need to enable windows 98 emulation.

Right Click on the shortcut, go to properties

click on the compatability tab

Select run this in compatability for windows 98/ME

not on most comps. RA2 should run fin with out compatability. If it helps your comp, then by all means go for it.
