Is there a way to mod red alert and command and conquer for the playstation console?---Without reprogramming the game...

Just something I want to know, since my RA wont work for the comp, but it does for the ps...

pc is so much better for these kind of games..

I know!!! You cant do anything good with speed, it takes a while to find what you want to build, and then build it, and I would rather use a mouse!

well.. the non pc games are built more for other games like vs fighting games (street fighter, etc...) have you ever tried playing those games on the keyboard? how about with 2 people? the computer just can't take 2 people mashing away on the keyboard... and shooting games too... for computers, it lags down a lot... unless you want flat walls, and state of the art pictures of year 2000... think duke nukem 3d.. just anythign that you don't want to lag in

I get games on console to freeze up quite often. It's really annoying but it happens more often than you think.

Nope.

Sorry to bump this, but has this actually been proven?

It is possible to add/change stuff in the Data.Mix files, but I am not sure how the game would react if it was stuff in a Playstation (it would have to be a chipped one I assume)

Might be a case of overwriting maps/units etc.. But it should be possible.

Cheers for now

How would you change it? The playstation doesn't have notepad to edit the file, neither can you write back to the disk when saving the changes to any files.

I've not looked that far into it really. I just know how to extract/insert files into the data.mix file. You would have to do all of this from your PC and then burn the resulting image to a disc.

Maybe I shall have go at something when I have a bit of spare time.

It would probably end up beyond me to be honest, but they said that it was impossible to add missions to Counterstrike, the FPS, not the RA addon ;), on the XBox... which turned out to be false...

Just a thought....
