Internet Gaming Problem

I have a problem on RA2 (Version: 1.006):

Every time I try to launch the internet game option the game says that I most download an update ("An upgrade is required for this game. Do you want to download it now?").

I click OK and I see this message: "Connecting...".

Afterwards it says: "Downloading 1 file..".

Then, after approximately 15 seconds I get this message:

"The download failed. Please check your connection and try again later."

My internet connection is open and my firewall configuration is fine.

 

My friend has the same problem and we couldn't find a solution over the internet.

 

Can somebody help us?

But I've got version 1.006 and I don't have Yuri's Revenge at all.

wait, what? The Yuri's Revenge game only has an official patch getting it to version 1.001, doesn't it? then how does RA2 get to 1.006?

They updated RA2 at least twice, they only had to update YR once, and that was it.

 

Download the patches and put them into your RA2/YR directory, then when the game is running, click to play online, login with your ID and you should be good to go.

I use GameSpy and it is working.

yell at EA about it.

 

then set up an acount @ Gamespy, and use that name and login to get online at WOL or XWIS

GOL (Generals Online) uses your Gamespy ID

WOL (Westwood Online) is completely seperate from GOL and Gamepsy.

I see. I had some issues with loggin on to WOL and GOL a while back, and I remember GeneralZ telling me something about using Gamespy IDs to log in...
