-NickoheaD- 0 Posted August 29, 2005 This doesn't really have much to do with the game but under the forum index generals is listed as, "C&C Generals & Zero Hour Talk about Generals, the latest game in the C&C universe. Also includes Zero Hour discussion." Generals? Set in the C&C universe?... :? Share this post Link to post
Scorpio XIII 0 Posted August 30, 2005 NO.Generals has NOTHING to do with any other C&Cs, which was its one of its downfalls along with NO storyline, but it does have excellent gameplay. The descreption only means its the newest C&C game Share this post Link to post
Cygnus X-1 12 Posted August 30, 2005 EA put the C&C title in to draw attention to the game. Its good, but nowhere near what we expect fro ma C&C title. Ea has the chance to redeem themselves with RA3..... Share this post Link to post
Acerz492 1 Posted August 30, 2005  Lol, it's something different. Be a little open-minded a'ight? Besides, I think he knows that dude. I think he's trying to point out a slight error in the title. Just to clear that up, I think it was meant by "CnC Universe of Games." There's the TS Universe, the RA Universe, and now we have something completely different, the Generals Universe. Share this post Link to post
-NickoheaD- 0 Posted August 30, 2005 Right ok, that does clear things up a bit. Just a little misleading that’s all. Share this post Link to post

There's the TS Universe, the RA Universe, and now we have something completely different, the Generals Universe. Some might say the C&C Universes are as follows: RA/Tiberian Universe, RA2 alternate branch from RA universe, and Generals. But only RA3 can tell us how the universes are really interjoined or not realated at all. Share this post Link to post
Acerz492 1 Posted August 30, 2005 True, but I'd rather the TS and the RA universe not join up. To me that'd kinda ruin the whole point of doing different storylines in the first place. I don't think EA would want to ruin a good thing like that...but we shall see won't we? Share this post Link to post
Cygnus X-1 12 Posted August 31, 2005 Well Kane is all over Red Alert so..........we shall see, we shall see.... Share this post Link to post
Acerz492 1 Posted August 31, 2005 I don't think that really means anything...ever heard of the same actor playing a character of the same name but the said character playing an entirely different role? Remember, these are alternate realities. In one, Kane could've been Stalin's advisor, whereas in another, he was the leader of the Immortal Brotherhood of Nod. Share this post Link to post
Cygnus X-1 12 Posted August 31, 2005 You need to get RA and beat the Soviet campaign. Then you will see the hand of Kane at work.... Share this post Link to post
-NickoheaD- 0 Posted August 31, 2005 RA -> C&C -> TS, is definitely how it is. The whole time traveling incident at the start of RA is what triggers the alternate universe of C&C in the first place, thus leading to all kinds of strange changes. RA2 was a big letdown in terms of story, as was generals. "Comrade chairman, I am the future!" - Kane Share this post Link to post
Acerz492 1 Posted August 31, 2005 RA -> C&C -> TS, is definitely how it is. Show me some -real- proof, and maybe I'll agree. If that was the case then RA2 and YR wouldn't have been sequals to RA. Share this post Link to post
Alphabear 11 Posted August 31, 2005 Its hard to predict exactly what way the cnc timeline will go. how many alternate realities have been created so far. If you know back to the future how it creates alternate reality so there was more than one timeline. for all we know with all the multiple timelines that have been created RA2, Yuris Revenge AND even Generals could have ended up somehow connected to one of those timelines. When you think about it Westwood would definatly be able to make something like that work. But chances are that the storyline wont even continue down the commonly predicted path now that EA is in charge as everyone that thought up the storyline dosnt work for them anymore. And EA itself has never created a storyline as complex even if you limit it to CNC, RA, TS so the chances that they would be able to continue it is very low. Im predicting that if they do make more they will go off in the 'sequal' direction like RA3 or Generals 2 for example Share this post Link to post
Guest MadBadger Posted August 31, 2005 generals 2= **** lot of unhappy RA fans turning up at various EA buildings with 'ARM THE MOB' upgrade RA3= contented RA fans at home for several weeks playing the hard and interesting storyline that was writern by god or someone just as good Share this post Link to post
-NickoheaD- 0 Posted August 31, 2005 RA -> C&C -> TS, is definitely how it is. Show me some -real- proof, and maybe I'll agree. If that was the case then RA2 and YR wouldn't have been sequals to RA. There is no 'proof', and there doesn't need to be any. That was the original concept for the Command & Conquer universe, created by Joe Bostic, Eydie Laramore and Brett W. Sperry. That is why RA2 and YR were a big let down in terms of story. They simply didn’t fit in anywhere. One could say that RA2 is an 'alternate' path of RA, though in my opinion, that’s just an excuse to try and incorporate it within the C&C universe. However, I am in no way saying RA2 was a bad game, it was great fun. Share this post Link to post
Cygnus X-1 12 Posted September 2, 2005 the "prrof" is in the RA cutscenes. Get em. Watch em. Know em. Love em. Share this post Link to post
Acerz492 1 Posted September 3, 2005  I guess I will have to see then. I just can't see how two completely different stories, no, timelines, can merge like that. BTW Cygnus, I plan to get CnC, TS, and RA1 quite soon, like, on my next payday (which is thursday for me, wednesday for you). You'd better get ZH... Share this post Link to post
