Sonic 292 Posted November 1, 2005 Saying someone's computer sucks and telling them its time to upgrade when you see their specs is rather stupid. Some of us can't afford the latest and greatest beast machine you know. Take a moment and say to your self, "damn I'm lucky to have computer at all", forget its specs, the fact that you have one or access to one should be reward enough. Think of the people who want one but can't have one. I consider myself damn lucky to have what I have right now. When you break down the specs of a computer they are all fine, aslong as you stick its limits of what software it can handle it will run fine. Share this post Link to post

TheBlackOut 6 Posted November 5, 2005 Virtual ram is how large the page file is. Luk3us is so cool, so he will tell a computer noobie what the magical "page file" is. Share this post Link to post
Luk3us 63 Posted November 5, 2005 Its where all the stuff that can't be placed in the actual memory is located on your hard drive. So its like a BIG RAM temp file sorta thing... Share this post Link to post
BWare 0 Posted November 5, 2005 ...but much slower. If you're low on ram, your system will start "thrashing"- moving active programs to and from the hard drive, which is very slow (compared to actual ram). It results in your system hanging, and you getting a headache. Basically the more ram you have, the better. Share this post Link to post

TheBlackOut 6 Posted November 5, 2005 Well, it's been bugging me for a while, so I'm finally getting a CD/DVD burner 8) Nice, tigerdirect rocks, but my mom says online stores are like the devil. *sigh* Share this post Link to post
BWare 0 Posted November 5, 2005 www.Newegg.com is quite possibly the best website ever. I've ordered nearly everything in my PC from there... it's just an awesome site. Frankly, I wasn't that pleased with TigerDirect. Share this post Link to post
