Dr. Rodney McKay 0 Posted November 11, 2005 What do you think the most dangerous form of martial arts is? I would say wrestling. It may look boring, but as soon as a grappler gets ahold of you, you're pretty much done. I remember an old argument there was on another forum. It was "Kurt Angle(Shoot Wrestling) Vs. Bruce Lee". In the end, Kurt won. So, what do you think is the most dangerous form of Martial Arts? Share this post Link to post
GeneralZ 0 Posted November 11, 2005 HAHA TAHTS FUNNY   GOOD ONE BWARE!! GLOCK BEATS ALL  Share this post Link to post
F15pilotX 4 Posted November 11, 2005 ncie one BWare but Baron, I don't consider wrestling a martial art  Tae-kwon-do, karate, etc...are martial arts  EDIT: the definition of Martial Art is as follows: "Any of several Asian arts of combat or self-defense, such as aikido, karate, judo, or tae kwon do, usually practiced as sport. Often used in the plural." Share this post Link to post
General Leang 0 Posted November 11, 2005 You know what karate is? Ask any taekwondo student who had their arm broken by it. In all seriousness though the most dangerous martial art depends on the person. For a large guy judo would be the one. A tall lankey guy would benefit greatly from karate. But the most dangerous one, not sure if they would teach it, would have to be ninjitsu. Share this post Link to post
Dark_Kodiak 0 Posted November 12, 2005 Definetly ninjitsu. And its taught in the military. Share this post Link to post
F15pilotX 4 Posted November 16, 2005 Cool, I should research more about it Share this post Link to post
rEdaSbLood 1 Posted November 16, 2005 yea with ninjitsu its hard to see the assassin coming...and they are experts at stealth, poison, evasion, and illusion and such Share this post Link to post

Cygnus X-1 12 Posted November 17, 2005 wrestling < aikido I would know, I ve used it to get out of several wrestling grips. Speed is key here Tae Kwon Do > Karate Karate is good, but in my expirience (5 US state champion ships, 4 of them open tournaments, Ohio, Indiana, Missouri, Illinios, and Oklahoma) Tae Kwon Do, at least those who are good at it, is much faster than karate. and Ive seen some pretty fast karate people. heres the thing Tae Kwon Do focuses mroe on footwork, karate focuses mroe on handwork. Legs have longer range than arms, and as well, getting a fluid motion "dance" if you will with the movement of body as using your legs are weapons is very lethal. While Karate is lethal too, in 5 state championships, I havent seen as much "rhythm" with karate. they can be blistering fast, but it only takes a miss by a centimeter to throw them off. The same applies to Tae Kwon Do, possible even more so due to higher momentum than Karate. But this also allows for faster recovery rates. I remember my Indiana final match, My right leg was caught by a Karate opponent, he was jsut starting to twist it to the outside to take me down and gain a major advantage. Heres the thing, even though he had my right leg up at waist chest level, he didnt see my left leg until it hit him in the head. He wasnt aware that i could still kick him even though he had my right leg up like that. It all happened in a split second, but thats all it took. That Kick knocked him off balance so much so that I broke his hold on my leg and double kicked him (yes, crude terminology, devastating power and speed) until he dropped. Once Tae Kwon Do gets its momentum, it is increasingly difficult to stop it. Think Matrix, only faster. Karate defending primarily with arms and hands, Tae Kwon DO attackign with all, but primarily feet and legs, as well as the occasion body check. Wanna chalenge me ? I'll welcome any and all competitors  Share this post Link to post
GeneralZ 0 Posted November 17, 2005 i saw my friend louie do that. he takes shao lin, and some 1 grabbed his leg. he just kicked up with the other and knocked him off. same situation as you cygnus, i know what ur talking about. though i'd rather stick to glock Share this post Link to post
Cygnus X-1 12 Posted November 17, 2005 yup yup glock got limited number of rounds though. I can kick you upwards of 1000 with almost no pause in fighting. Share this post Link to post
GeneralZ 0 Posted November 17, 2005 you wont run out of bullets. you wont even need to fire. what idiot tries to kick a guy pointing a glock at him? :? just having the gun makes people back awway from you GUNS RULE! MUST HAVE GUNS! GUNS! GUNS! lol   Share this post Link to post

Cygnus X-1 12 Posted November 18, 2005 heres the problem with guns. people back away from the guy with the gun, giving him the advantage. lets say he/she/it pulls a gun on me at like 2 feet away. bye bye gun, bye bye hand, bye bye nose, and for good measure, Ill keep beating he/she/it until the cops arrive or they begin to look very much like a dead animal Share this post Link to post
GeneralZ 0 Posted November 18, 2005 a trained gunman would still shoot by reflex. Share this post Link to post
Cygnus X-1 12 Posted November 19, 2005 a trained gunman wont find a blackbelt within arms reach of him. also, a trained gunman would know that pulling a gun means: A-you now have the attention of hte whole world around you, you better have things under control, or you're screwed. B-some one else has already pulled a gun, and now you've stalemated htem. for the moment anyways. C-target practice D-you really want to go back to jail/prison Share this post Link to post
F15pilotX 4 Posted November 19, 2005 Too true...I'd rather be a black belt than be a shooting expert, 'cause you can't carry guns everywhere Share this post Link to post
Cygnus X-1 12 Posted November 19, 2005 you also cant be sure that you will always have a gun or amo available whereas, if you are there, you can be sure to use yourself Share this post Link to post
BWare 0 Posted November 20, 2005 My biggest pet peve: movies where some moron pulls a gun (apparently they think they only work within 4 feet) and keeps it right up to someone's face. You just know it's going to get knocked away and a ridiculous 20 minute fist fight will ensue . If you're out of arm's reach and holding a gun to an unarmed person, you're pretty much in total control. "Tae kwan do" and all that silliness is completely pointless then. F15pilotX 4 Posted November 20, 2005 Unless they're a moron who can't shoot Share this post Link to post
BWare 0 Posted November 20, 2005 That is so true. If you draw a gun, you probably should have had some lessons in your past Share this post Link to post
