Tree 0 Posted December 29, 2005 Well, all these years I've had a desktop, and was thinking of finally getting a laptop. Dell's having this special where you get $500 off anything over $1999, $400 off of $1499, and $250 off of $999. I'd like a Dell, since they're cheap and have good reputations. But what do you reccommend or have that works good? Share this post Link to post
Luk3us 63 Posted December 29, 2005 Bah, don't get a laptop. Get a tablet PC.... The novelty it self is worth the extra money. Share this post Link to post
rEdaSbLood 1 Posted December 29, 2005 yea dell's do have a good reputation...... i'd say you should get it but you'd have to go all out...top o' the line ya know get the best you can for the cheapest you can... one of my favorite features of a laptop is its mobility... laptops are so compact for computer and can basically be just as able as desktops... Tree 0 Posted December 29, 2005 I've heard tablets suck. And I've got no use for it for what I'm going to be using it for. Share this post Link to post
GeneralZ 0 Posted December 29, 2005 Dell, good reputation??? ok, they're cheap reliable computers but a no-no for gaming Share this post Link to post
Tree 0 Posted December 29, 2005 I've heard good things about their XPS laptops for gaming. Dell desktops just plain suck. But they have solid laptops. Share this post Link to post
TheBlackOut 7 Posted December 30, 2005 I've heard good things about their XPS laptops for gaming. Dell desktops just plain suck. But they have solid laptops. On Desktops they will try to save money and way they can... Like they didn't put an AGP slot on my friends computer and they were suppose to... For that very reason I won't buy from Dell. I know people hate them, but I like Gateway, but I really don't know about their laptops... Share this post Link to post
Luk3us 63 Posted December 30, 2005 I've used a tablet PC, they're pretty cool. Though not really worth it for the prices they cost. My crappy old Dell Insprion 5100 has served me well, though I'm a little rough, so its needed a new keyboard, new power adapter and the mouse that came with it doesn't go, and the frame is a tad broken... So I'd say they can take a bit of damage... Unlike stupid Compaq laptops, bah.. Share this post Link to post
Woofna 0 Posted December 30, 2005 Bah, don't get a laptop. Get a tablet PC.... The novelty it self is worth the extra money. How they bloody hell can I play CNC on a bloody tablet?! And I'm looking into getting a laptop. I want internet/ethernet, (Wirelesswould be nice) and some mild gaming.. Mild gaming means, like, Dune 2000, Tibsun, RA2, YR, Starcraft, maybe Quake 2... No generals. I dun want to buy a 13,000 dollar laptop so it can, with a decent speed, support the damned Sage engine. My Desktop HP can't even do that. Share this post Link to post
