Luk3us 63 Posted March 26, 2006 Just make sure you get decent keyboard/mouse/monitor/speakers to complement it. Share this post Link to post
TheBlackOut 7 Posted March 26, 2006 Almost as good as mine! Hehe. 7600 GT? Is that AGP or PCI-e? Share this post Link to post
Koen 2 Posted March 26, 2006 It'll be PCI-express. I'm getting an Asus A8N-E motherboard to put it all in, by the way. And I need to get a TFT as well now, because the video card only has DVI outputs, no more old-fashioned VGA outputs for my CRT monitor... there goes all my money of the last months 8) Share this post Link to post
Sonic 295 Posted March 26, 2006 Sounds great Koen Have you ordered it as a complete system or as individual parts? You know half the fun is assembling it yourself  Share this post Link to post
TheBlackOut 7 Posted March 26, 2006 Sounds great Koen Have you ordered it as a complete system or as individual parts? You know half the fun is assembling it yourself  Until you static shock on of your parts or do like me, not put the 4pin powerconnector into the motherboard so every runs but the moniter does not turn on and the BIOS doesn't beep. Then you spend a hour wondering and... .............. Then you just look at your clumpsy mistake... And you want to hit yourself. Share this post Link to post
Saracen 16 Posted March 26, 2006 Don't remind me! I once spent a whole day screaming profanity at the damn rig after I transferred my friends hardware to another case! I got highly stressed ripping my hair out saying "Why won't this bastard screen switch on? It's not beeping! It was ****ing fine before I moved it!" I've never made the same mistake since Share this post Link to post
Koen 2 Posted March 26, 2006 Well I've built 2 PCs before... and it was nice. But when my DVD burner in one of those PCs broke down, I was less happy. I had to send it back to the web shop and wait 4 weeks until I got a new one. With all the postage it becomes cheaper to just buy one in a good, low-profile PC shop. And on the plus side: it will be ready in 1 week, instead of having to wait for all parts to arrive (I actually had to wait 2 months for the motherboard of one of my home-built PCs to arrive - joy ). Koen 2 Posted March 27, 2006 All the games I've never been able to see in full detail or not play at all: Empire at War Generals Perimeter (maybe) BfME 1 GTA: San Andreas (this one is out for PC, right?) My sister: Galactic Civilizations II and Age of Empires III. Any suggestions for must-have games? I'm not very fond of FPS games (basically because I have no tactical instinct in them, I just charge ahead and shoot, while you should side-step or hide or more of that stuff). Acerz492 1 Posted March 27, 2006 I would suggest Half Life 2 but you're not into FPS..meh. Hmm, try Black and White 2. That's quite a good game, and we all like playing god once in a while. Share this post Link to post
Fo)( 0 Posted March 28, 2006 I have empire at war now, and it is teh SJ*T! You really 'dont' have to worry about income a lot. It's just plain action. Compared to Ra2 / YR the games are MUCH shorter, like 10-15 minutes, and that is 10 - 15 minutes of action, which is also quite a timesaver ^^ The best thing though, are the special units (like Darth Vader's Tie / Darth Vader). Because they have cool taunts etc. 8) I still ike Ra2 etc. though and won't stop playing that. Share this post Link to post
TheBlackOut 7 Posted March 29, 2006 If you like FPS's, Battlefield 2 and Call of Duty 2. Share this post Link to post
