So you're saying that the US decision to attack Japan after being attacked at Pearl Harbor was a "worst" decision? Man you're dense.

the mistake there was to not deffend Peal Harbor propertly, i saw in History Chanel that japanise subs entered to Peal Harbor and no one realized it.

And what a choice to throw an atomic bomb!!!, dude it is fun in games, but in the reality they killed thousands of civilians, that was a stupid and almost racist choice

I know! They should have just, you know, SENSED that there were subs there spying! It's so obvious!

RACIST? Oh here we go.... that decision to drop those bombs SAVED millions of lives by ending a long, brutal war that the Japanese would NEVER quit fighting (even till the last man, woman, or child). You clearly have no idea what the Japanese were like during WWII. They were barely more civilized than animals. For some fun, try researching the Bataan Death March.

Fifty million people died in WWII. War is hell, world war is even worse. The decision to drop the bombs was a brilliant one, and it ended the war before the brutal fighting could drag on for years more at the expense of probably millions of lives.

To try to include RACE in this just reveals your own immature ignorance. Don't even try to go down that road.

Tree- What's with your eager willingness to ignore WWII because it happened "over 50 years ago"? Fifty years is NOTHING. Hell, there are still people alive who experienced these things! There are still hundreds of thousands of WWII vets out there! The Pope JUST visited the infamous Auschwitz death camp and met with a large group of people who survived it- people STILL LIVING. The events of WWII and the holocaust are VERY recent, and still extremely relevant to us today. How can you be this foolishly shortsighted?

Thank You BWare

on the atomic bomb thing....

You do realise that the Firebombings of Tokyo, Berlin, and the Rhine Valley killed more people than the Atomic bomb. The bomb did more than just end the war as well, it ended it before the Soviet Union could get heavily involved. As a Result, the US was hte sole power behind Japan's surrendure conditions, and prevented another nation from falling to the Red Menace.

It has no bearing on my life. I didn't know anyone in Auschwitz, and the whole war was headed by a meth addict (Among other things). My grandfather was a pilot during WWII, but that's over and done with. I understand that there's still people living from WWII. That's not what I'm saying. I'm saying that why should we care about an event (D-Day) that was unnecessary and quite small in the large scheme. Yes, If D-Day didn't happen, there were going to be other plans.

"Shortsighted"? I'm being shortsighted because I refuse to mourn over people I didn't know and who died over half a century ago? Sorry, don't see your logic.

It's not about mourning them. It's about honoring them. Since you have such a basic misunderstanding about the very point of it, it's no surprise that you have no respect. Also, my point stands about the shortsightedness.

Meh. I don't have time for this ****. I've got Apache to install on 2 servers, cPanel to install on one, and reformatting another.

Why do you people care? It happened. Move on.

Just like a Holocaust topic in another forum. It was over 50 years ago people. Sure, it was bad, blah blah. But no reason to keep "remembering" it.

The large scheme? Thats laughable, you know why? The large scheme is made by little events, like D-Day. Without things like D-Day, the large scheme might of shifted towards the Nazi side. Look at Gettysburg in the American Civil War, if the South won that, the South probably would of won the war, but it was a little events in the Civil War scheme...

History repeats itself too, its been PROVEN. Its happening right now too. -_-

Why should I care? What does it matter in the great scheme of things? How does that influence me personally?

Do I care if you care? Nope. And it's quite likely that you've visited one of the 2000 or more sites that I do server work for and host. Especially if you've ever gotten into the Madden community.

But today they are civilizated people (except a few exceptions), and still now the effects of the atomic bomb affects their lifes, I wont be happy if I born without my legs, if that would happen i´ll be "barely more civilized than an animal",

Anyway I don´t think that anyone must pay that, neither entires of populations

In short, if as a popualtion, the people jsut sit by and let the dictators take over and join the army to attack neighboring countries, because hey, its the thing to do, then yes, they are little more than animals.

The decision to drop the bombs was not taken lightly, and quite frankly, the sensationalism and negative comments we get in hindsight is pretty ****ing annoying.

The Japanese were fierce fighters who fought the last man. During WW2, they were savage beasts. This does not reflect on their current status, which I admire. The decision to drop the bombs stopped many more brutal battles and the deaths of many soldiers and civlians on both sides of the war. Better 200 hundred thousand or so than a few million.

Plus the dropping of the bombs ended the war before the Soviets oculd get involved. The last thing we needed was a confrontation with them over Japan. We laready had enough issues with Germany.
