Embryonic Stem Cell Research

Recommended Posts

Oh yes, I see Bware is violating Forum rules once again with his sig... hee

How so? Shut up. It's a clever line from one of the greatest leaders in this last century.

You know Reagan died from a disease that could have been cured with stem cell... poetic justice if you ask me.

You stupid son of a bitch.... First of all, you have mindlessly bought into the hype that embryonic stem cells will cure every disease under the sun. There is currently zero proof that it will do ANYTHING to cure ANYTHING. Adult stem cells (the ones that don't require the slaying of a baby) are currently being used to treat and CURE thousands of diseases. Embryonic cells can currently cure none, and all the research offers are some VERY vague promises that the adult cells are already fulfilling. How about doing some research before smugly dancing on the grave of a man greater than you could ever dream to be? I'm sure it makes you feel like a big man.

Secondly, for it to be "poetic justice", Reagan would have had to have fought stem cell research during his presidency. This isn't the case, but you just assume that he was "anti-stem cell" because he was a conservative. Hell, as he was slipping away, his wife pleaded with the Bush administration to support stem cell research! The Reagans were a strong conservative voice FOR embryonic stem cell research. Your distasteful and horribly insensitive remark isn't even clever or accurate. You are an insensitive clod and a complete moron. Do us a favor and go crawl back into whatever hole you came from. I for one didn't miss you one bit (though I can't speak for king I see ).

If you can't bring yourself to apologize for that horrible and false remark, then you really have no soul.

nice to see you back shah.

I saw they now have a way they can use and conduct research with Embryonic stem cells using a method where the fetus is not killed.

Yeah, that is a new development. It's still a little sketchy, but if perfected, it could be a good, neutral solution to the whole mess. I'm personally pretty torn on this issue, but if there were a way to harvest embryonic stem cells without killing the baby, then I'd be completely for it.

He wasn't necessarily for or against it. It wasn't a problem during his administration, so I really have no idea. His wife, however, has been a strong voice for it.

Yeah, same here. But hey, she's just the First Lady, and doesn't make policy (unlike Hillary...). You can't blame her for wanting to use any means to save her husband, and since she'd been essentially lied to about the promise of embryonic stem cell research, she saw it as a way to save her husband. You really can't blame her. Man, what a terrible situation to be in!

Well, believe what you want to, but I think to put your faith in it is stupid

noone said i believe in it...nor do i have faith in it...at least not 100% of the time....but i don't think its useless or stupid...ambiguously general the majority of the time..but not stupid...anyways im not getting into it....whats going on with stem cells now they have left the limelight...

They were in the limelight in the first place because their use would justify abortion in the minds of some.

But anyway, about astrology, there is really no reason at all to give it any credence. Seriously. Any way you look at it, it's complete bull. I mean, a 747 landing in Denver has more of a gravitational pull on you than the nearest star. How can a thinking person with any scientific knowledge give any credibility to astrology? :?

i think i saw a compliment in there somewhere..something about me being a thinking person with scientific knowledge...

anyways we should start this asa topic cuz we are about to get into it lol

through my experiences i have found that even though general, a certain astrology website i visit has proven to hold truth day by day...now whether that truth is universal and not specific to my time, place, and birth stats doesn't matter to me..there is still something to be learned from it day to day...

also, the readings it gives to me (which are specific to even the time i was born) have been found to be true..i believe in astrology, quality astrology, but not 100%...now i understand you all probably don't..but i dont care lol...im just saying i find truth in it..

BWare, when people criticize you and question your faith it doesn't shake it..and thats how i remain on this topic....but dont get me wrong id love to hear your opinion..just dont go all "but a logical person in their right mind blah blah blah" on me...cuz thats boring...

..so?
