Har har, I'm laughing...

Well, one qeustion, I finally got my new pc (I'm writing this very post with it, JIPPEE :D ) And I'm not sure if I got the latest drivers for my Sapphire 9800 Pro. I've looked around at Ati.com but couldn't really find it (maybe its just me) Do you know where I can get the latest stuff

And whats with those 'catalysts'

I'm not really an expert here, as you see

One question: Generals on my PC is very slow and I wait a lot. Why is this happening?

Well, mabe you had my problem... TOO OLD PC?

Taka a look at your PC configuration.

If your PC is a bit or somewhat over that then it might play slow.

Remember moredetail or players also slow the game down.

Yeh i think EA should change the minimum req's for the game because my cousin had just above the minimum req's and it still ran unbearably slow.... :?

Same here with Generals on my OLD pc.

I had 256 Ram, 1,4 GHZ, and 64 MB Gefroce 2, which is pretty above the minimum. But still, If I played generals you could see it as very slow.

With my 9800 Pro and all I can look straight into a nuke blast and no slowdown at all 8)

The minimum requirements are what is need to get the game to run. It doesn't mean get the game to run so you can play it. It simply means to get the game to run... :?

I mean you should always have higher specs than the minimum requirements.... Unless its to do with software in which case nobody cares what they are.

The Geforce II was bare minimum, and because Generals is in full 3D it would have a major impact on performance. If I put a Geforce 2 into my Athlon XP 3000+ with 1024 MB of RAM, it wouldn't perform much better.

Why do you think I got a new computer?

Now I have:

Sapphire 9800 Pro Atlantis

1 GB RAM with 400 MHZ

2,8 GHZ HT Processor with 1 MB Cache

And it goes on and on.

And now I can play generals like there's no tommorow :D

I ran Generals on a P3 700Mhz, 64Mb RADEON (of some description) 256Mb SD RAM and it ran acceptably with minimum graphics.

But on my new comp with a Athlon 2500+ (running at 2.8Ghz) and a GF44400 it runs like a dream w/ full graphics :D

Ive never played gens on my new comp, but i know it would run smoothly with

AMD XP 2500+

ATI Radeon 9800 256mb

512mb DDR

Should run pretty smoothly :D

i can't really call it may new PC ive had it for like 6 months now but its pretty new..

Like NVIDIA, ATI don't make the cards, they just make the chips (the GPUs). Its the companies, in this case Sapphire, that buy these chips from NVIDIA and ATI and make their own video cards.
