Firnagzen 0 Posted December 4, 2006 They will be making a return, right? Are there going to be any new varieties? Random thought: We now produce light infantries as squads. When they die over tiberium, how many visceroids do they spawn? A squad of visceroids that moves as one unit? Share this post Link to post
comander starlin 6 Posted December 4, 2006 wow that would be crazy cool a army of Visceroids that would add a crazy twist to the game. 8) Share this post Link to post
Alphabear 11 Posted December 6, 2006 lol. one more reason to get rid of the squads or limit them to one unit type Share this post Link to post
Luk3us 63 Posted December 6, 2006 You guys need to get over the whole squads thing. They're here and that is that. Besides, I like squads. Share this post Link to post
Firnagzen 0 Posted December 6, 2006 Yea, but a squad of visceroids is a horrible thing. One visceroid can wreck a lot of things, 'specially if you're not careful. *shudders at the memory* Imagine making 5 squads of infantry and kamikazing them on your enemy's tiberium field. Then the visceroids wreck all his harvesters and whatever he sends against them. Ouch. Share this post Link to post
Alphabear 11 Posted December 6, 2006 squads are good for middle ages type games with swords etc. but in a game like cnc3 it doesnt fit well unless its Nod cannon fodder. There was an unnaturaly large ammount of infantry soldiers in the november trailer. Also kind of eliminates the possibility of missions with a small squad of units Share this post Link to post
Luk3us 63 Posted December 6, 2006 No it doesn't, it simply means there is only "one" squad, as opposed to 6 or 7 guys, representing "one" squad. Share this post Link to post
Alphabear 11 Posted December 6, 2006 but if both sides have infantry in squads you wont be able to outnumber any group of enemies Share this post Link to post
Saracen 16 Posted December 6, 2006 Play Warhammer 40k: Dawn of War. It's the RTS game of 2005. They use squads and they work stupendously well. Once you've played this game you'll understand squads alot better and how much of a benefit they are over a single guy. Anyway, it makes infantry battles more epic and overall a hell of alot more fun. squads are good for middle ages type games with swords etc. but in a game like cnc3 it doesnt fit well unless its Nod cannon fodder. There was an unnaturaly large ammount of infantry soldiers in the november trailer. Also kind of eliminates the possibility of missions with a small squad of units I'm sorry that's bull****. The squad mechanic works every time in RTS games. All this negetivity about squads comes from people who have not played a wide range of RTS games and are clueless as to how they work. Alphabear 11 Posted December 7, 2006 Ok i havent played that many games with squads only EAW, BFME games and Dawn of War. Maybe if they keep the squads small to like 5 or so men it will be ok but some of the screenshots looked like they had about 16 per squad. This just seems far too many. Share this post Link to post
comander starlin 6 Posted December 7, 2006 well a very good game that has squads is Company of Heroes, by Ralic. I uses squads the way C&C3 should use them. Share this post Link to post
TheRoadToDawn 0 Posted December 7, 2006 First: Its C&C3! There has to be tiberium mutations everywhere! Second: Squads can make the difference! Share this post Link to post
comander starlin 6 Posted December 7, 2006 you have a point nod sent up that Tiberuim Missile so most of the planet should be covered in Tiberuim and New Zealand should be covered in it. Share this post Link to post
Luk3us 63 Posted December 7, 2006 That missile never went up. As that basically translates as end of the C&C series really. New Zealand isn't a tiberian hot zone. Its simply the among the first to be liberated by the glory that is the Brotherhood! And I believe that Sydney and Melbourne to be used by the Brotherhood to co-ordinate their nuclear missiles. Just to make sure they're accurate. They were to use Canberra, but hopefully it'll get wiped out as well from the stupidly high yield warheads being used. Share this post Link to post
comander starlin 6 Posted December 7, 2006 well of coarse New Zealand will be liberated by Nod, because we have Peace Through Power, and Kiwi's should not agree with the GDI, we don't agree with the UN as a nation, we find that it is a waste of out defense force. Share this post Link to post
Guest Maul Posted December 8, 2006 visceroids rock, maybe it depends on how many peeps die? Share this post Link to post
