Predator Comments on C&C 3 Specs

We get asked this question a lot on our forums and via e-mails, what are system requirements for C&C 3? The short answer is we have no idea. The long answer is EA have not announced anything to do with the system requirements just yet. Until today that is. EA community manager, Predator, made some comments about the system requirements for C&C 3 in this thread on Planet C&C's forums.

 

The C&C 3 min spec will be very similar to BFME 2. Expect a GeForce 3 minimum requirement and most likely 512MB of RAM.

 

We are of course constantly optimizing and have not solidified the min spec, but if you can't run BFME II at low res...then you are in trouble.

We have a page in our C&C 3 section here at CNCNZ.com that lists some rough estimated system requirements. As soon as EA confirms the system requirements for C&C 3 that page will be updated.

 

On a personal note I hope my Athlon 64 3800+/GeForce 7600 GT/1 GB Ram based system handles C&C 3, might bump it up to 2 GB Ram before the game is released. What sort of system will be you playing C&C 3 on?

With the release of the new Geforce 8800 i read that ea is recommending it for CnC3

That's for all marketing and advertising. EA get to sell more games, NVIDIA get to sell more video cards.

Of course a shiny new Geforcre 8800 would be awesome for C&C 3 but it doesn't mean you will need one to make the game run. If the Gefore 9x or 10x range was out now thats what they would recommend.

 

However a Geforce 6600 could be pushing it.

well i am upgrading at that time to also accommodate for supreme comander, so i will have one grunty PC when they come out

It will probably play on a Geforce 6600, just not very well and at low details.

Im sure i can play it, but on the cutting edge games like fear i cant turn the graphics up past medium and thats with no AA so on CNC3 im expecting to have to run on low

I f***ing hope not. Predator said to me personally on AIM a short while back that if I could play BfME2 comfortably on my machine, I'll be able to play this. Now I have an old Radeon 9250 in my machine and I was able to get medium/High detail outta that game with this card.

 

So I'm expecting at the very least to get Low/Medium detail outta this game.
