C&C 3 Official Dev Team Tournament

Recommended Posts

Community manager, Predator, has posted the details about the C&C 3 Official Dev Team Tournament on the Official C&C 3 Forums. This a tournament they are running at EALA. Most of the team working on C&C 3 are participating. Predator explains it all below.

Alright Ladies and Gentlemen, the official Command & Conquer 3 Development Team tournament has officially started! Round 1 kicked off yesterday and continued through today. While we have a massive development team, not the entire team is participating in the 1v1 tourney, but we do also have a 2v2 tourney coming up.

But, this is our traditional 1v1 tourney and it is legendary! In the image below you can start to see the results of Round 1 and the map that we are playing on in each round. In this case it is called Small Town USA. The map has tiberium expansion fields in the upper left and bottom right corner and base start points in the other corners. There are plenty of garrisonable buildings in the center where some of the most deadly attacks occur!

What we are going to do in the coming days and week is give you RECAPS of the matches.

Some of you may know him, some may not, but let me introduce A ssociate Producer Jim Vessella, also known here as EALA Jimtern.

Jim is going to bringing you recaps on all the hot matches, th e stories, the twists and turns and maybe we'll get some other guest recaps as well.

You'll notice that your very own community manager won his fir st round. Playing as GDI I used a nasty combination of Predator Tanks and a surveyor to expand my base, generate tons of cash, and obliterate my opponent. Hey, i'm honest, i'm not the best, and it feels damn good to win!

So stay tuned to this thread for all the action. We will bring ing you the recaps and the eventual champion which we hopefully plan to capture on video!

Check out this thread on the Official C&C 3 Forums for updates.

Not if Predator can stop him in the quarter finals! This will certainly be the match of the tournament!

Meh, it'll be cool to see some video of multiplayer in action.

Of course a nice multiplayer demo would be even better!

Jason Bender is the assistant senior producer of C&C 3. Mike Verdu's right hand man....

What will be really interesting to know, is how many of the developers will be copying the C&C Sumit's moves in this tournament...

So will the winner of the tourney get a special visit by Kane?

some replay vids (edited of course) would be pretty sweet, might be kinda interesting to see how the people who made the game play the game
