I seriously doubt there will ever be a time when a computer is "smarter" than a person.

 

Sure computers can do the same tasks we do more efficiently and effectively than us. But in the end its all just transistors and circuits it doesn't have the same drive to excel and expand that we do...

The thing is, there may be a way to program a computer to actually think on its own. Probably wont happen for a long, long time though.
