Playing on brutal

Looking for some advice on how to beat the computer on Brutal with the personality set to random. I managed to hold them off for about 10 minutes or so and then as always the harvesters started to act dumb and the cash flow stopped coming in. I was playing NOD vs GDI.

Expand quickley, which you should do anyway, and then tech up ASAP and turtle. Then just build up an army slowly, then overrun the enemy.

 

Don't forget to use the seed tiberium ability for Nod, and cap any spikes you can and defend them.

Well what I've been doing is the first thing I build is a crane then 4 refineries then power plants and hand of nods and then pump out rocket squad and miltans. I'm trying to this on a map called Redzone however the blue tiberium make my harvesters stupid and they keep trying to collect from it even when it's empty and when I tell to harvest a diff field. I get side tracked trying to defend the base and keep a eye on the harvesters while trying to upgrade. I managed to get to avitars but ran dry of money. I couldnt keep up the line of defence I had and pump out enough avitars. The ION cannon is what killed me the last time. I couldnt recover properly.

I know! Play multiplayer! Still, the brutal ones are a challange to most guys. (Exept Apollo...)

The Brutal enemy cheats, so it feels kinda stupid to play against it.

The way I see it the more I play brutal the better I get and I might be able to stand a chance online. I can beat the computer on brutal using the cc retarded mod..

Well, Brutal is for guys... Guys crazed about losing. Anyway though, play with humans instead; it's much better, and at least you can socialize (even if it's just trash talking).

Play on a map with choke points first. There's a 1v1 map with a river and two bridges (I can't remember the name) and those two bridges are the only points of interaction if micro managed properly. Then build your own strategies from there. :wink:

Yep, go with maps with choke points first. Never ever go head-to-head against a brutal in an open field when you're new against one. It will seriously own. Take your time too when mounting an attack, focus on the resource and the defenses first. Better be a turtle-steamroller kind of guy.

The only map that I can really play on brutal is unfair advantage and with the mod. I'm going to try without the mod to. It seems like the computer cheats like crazy besides having double the start up funds.

Nah, it's just that the computer is uber at micro-management, simply because he can do it all at once

 

And brutal is easily beaten on some custom maps.
