Rider 0 Posted February 19, 2004 Every time I try to start the Win95 version of the first Command & Conquer I get an error: The procedure entry point SMapLS_IP_EBP_12 could not be located in the dynamic link library KERNEL32.dll I have already copied the original Win98 version of KERNEL32.dll into my Windows 2000 System directory, and even to the C&C Directory, but to no avail. So my question to you is: Is it possible to play it anyway (with network support) and if so, then how? Please help me! Oh, and it's good to be back again ;D Share this post Link to post
Sonic 295 Posted February 19, 2004 This guide here will get the game running http://www.cncnz.com/features/tech/ccxpfix.shtml There is a small patch file to download, unfortunetly it disables network play. This guide is really for Windows XP but it should be fine for Windows 2000. One thing though, you will need to set the compatibility mode on some of the main files for C&C 95, to use this you need Windows 2000 Service Pack 3 or higher installed to access the compatibility mode support. Rider 0 Posted February 19, 2004 Very odd, I have installed all the updates/service packs but I still don't have a compatibility mode... anyone know how to fix this? Share this post Link to post
chickendippers 1 Posted February 19, 2004 That may be a question for Microsoft, not us. Share this post Link to post
Sonic 295 Posted February 19, 2004 What I posted above is all the information I have about getting the older C&C games running on Windows 2000 or Windows XP. Share this post Link to post
Koen 2 Posted February 20, 2004 Windows 2000 does not register some slayerui.dll file, find it on your PC and run RegSvr32 on that file on the command prompt. That enables the compatibility layer If you have a problem doing this let me know. Share this post Link to post
Guest MRoget Posted February 21, 2004 For full step by step for Windows 2000, instructions go to: http://www.planetcnc.com/features/techtroopers/classicsInXP/ They worked great for me! PS > chickendippers: But I still can't find the "Load" button on the main menu, just a "Load Mission" button that brings up the list of previously saved missions. I'm still trying to avoid the necessity of saving in the first place. Share this post Link to post
chickendippers 1 Posted February 21, 2004 I don't know if it's possible to play previously completed missions without loading a save. Share this post Link to post
Nyerguds 100 Posted September 16, 2004 No... but you can download a savegame pack of all missions (including the alternate choices for each) at the C&C Filezone [Tiberian Dawn] -> [utilities] -> [save games] Share this post Link to post
