Dr. Rodney McKay 0 Posted March 22, 2008 (edited) What kind of cooling do you use in your PC? Do you spin our air around to cool it, or do you have liquid running in tubes all around your expensive electronic equipment? Are you an exotic person with an exotic Phase Change Cooling system? Tell Uncle Rodney about how cool you and your PC are. I use basic fans and the like. My case is messy enough without water-filled tubes running around it. Luk3us 63 Posted March 22, 2008 I have a fan up front which sucks air in, and one on the side which sucks air in, and two out the back which sucks air out. Keeps everything reasonably cool. Share this post Link to post
Dr. Rodney McKay 0 Posted March 22, 2008 (edited) Yes, indeed. ^5 for case fans. Mine are particularly quiet, a trait I enjoy about them. How about yours? Edited March 22, 2008 by Dr. Rodney McKay Share this post Link to post
Saracen 16 Posted March 22, 2008 get rid of the case and put all your in-case components in a fish tank and fill with mineral oil! Quiet, efficient, and I've heard you can overclock it like nuts. Not that I'd do that to my own machine.... I'm sure it'd work well for some people. But not me... so yeah... case fans! Share this post Link to post
TheBlackOut 7 Posted March 22, 2008 In a couple of years when I get my current system gets replaced, I might actually wanna try this. Share this post Link to post
Louis EX 0 Posted March 23, 2008 Oh my..they should try putting in some fishes. When I have lots of cash, I wanna try something like that. It would look so cool and my friends would be sooo jealous xD. But it'll get messy when you want to take the motherboard out and do some modification. Share this post Link to post
Sonic 295 Posted March 23, 2008 Standard fan cooling set up in my case. 120mm Front Intake 120mm Rear Exhaust 80mm Side Fan 120mm CPU Cooler (Thermaltake Golden Orb II) All fans have blue LEDs, even the CPU fan. You can hear them but its reasonably quiet overall. Share this post Link to post
Luk3us 63 Posted March 23, 2008 I don't see what the big fuss about LCD fans are really. I find them kinda annoying... I want to swap out my front blue LCD fan, but I don't feel like spending $10 bucks just to get a new fan... Eh. Share this post Link to post
Sonic 295 Posted March 23, 2008 Its called adding some colour Here's a pic of my case bathed in blue. This was taken the day after I put it all together. It looks different now with the all the cables hidden (well most of them), and the PSU is newer (old one pictured). Share this post Link to post
Hans5849 0 Posted March 24, 2008 2x 80mm intake 2x 120mm intake 2x 80mm exhaust 1x 120mm (PSU) exhaust Its quiet as can be right now, oh wait that's because my video card died and I'm on my laptop. Share this post Link to post

Yea, they did get annoying when I tried to sleep (I'm always seeding/download torrents and running folding@home) so I just bought some. 4x80mm value pack for 15 bucks and one really fast 120mm for like 10 bucks. Now my case is dark and I love it. Share this post Link to post
