This sounds like the issue where Generals fails to write the options.ini file. Read this topic: http://forums.cncnz.com/topic/12319-how-to-play-generals-zero-hour-in-windows-7-x64/ it says it's for Win7, but it applies for Win10 as well.

C&C - Free to Play Rumour: Are EA Planning to Revive Command & Conquer?
Tore replied to Sonic's topic in Command & Conquer News
Generals was not a "quick cash grab" and neither was the SAGE engine aging at the time of release as the engine was made for Generals. The only C&C game that was released in a poor state was Tiberian Sun which initial version was buggy and the following patches fixed a lot, but not everything. All C&C games, save for Sole Survivor and C&C4, have released with an amount of content similar to the competition of the time and this includes expansion packs. In Westwood games all fixes introduced in expansions, save for YR, where also available as free patches. -

Rainbow Six and Rayman too -
Yup. The cutscenes showed Iowa class Battleships RA1 is still one of my favorite games. Below you can see the RA1 part of my C&C collection

I have one suggestion for the theme on the main page. In CSS replace the properties in the html selector with: html { background: #001b3d url(images/red-alert-bg.jpg) center fixed; background-size: cover; } This will make the background image scale with the size of the users monitor. It looks better imo than tiling the image.

Except that you are celebrating 18 days too early

I feel no need to have a better PC than the one mentioned as my main one on page 2 yet. It runs pretty much everything on Ultra/high at 2560 x 1440 at 60 FPS or higher while I do other stuff in the background.

Indeed. Not only aliens. FUTURE TIME TRAVELING ILLEGAL ALIENS FROM SPACE!

Don't quite know what you mean with this. The Windows version of RA is not locked to any version of Windows, but the installwizard installer was badly coded and thus you get the message about the program being for Windows 95 (a message meant for Windows 3.11 and lower) for Windows XP and higher. On a 32bit version of Windows this can be bypassed with a compatibility mode. Red Alert Manager was made to make the process easier. This also happens with the CD installer for C&C95. As for DX12 itself if it doesn't catch on it will be like DX10 was for Vista forgotten, but installable on later versions of Windows or bundled with other DX libraries.

Question on custom multiplayer maps
Tore replied to Tiberium Druggie's topic in Command & Conquer / Covert Operations Maps & Modding
You can find some custom MP maps here: https://forums.cncnet.org/index.php?board=96.0 Most of them should work on any version of C&C from the original DOS version (1995) to C&C95 (1997) to Nyerguds' 1.06c Revision 3 patch (2014). If you are using the original LAN lobby make sure you both have the map installed otherwise it wont work. If you use CnCNet for LAN the map will transfer automatically. The TFD patch is by nathancnc and contains the work of Nyerguds. -
"Scanlines" don't really look that great on LCD monitors. They can look good with games on old CRT monitors where as Nyerguds says they were the result of the display technology of the day.

I use AIMP for my music with a Winamp style skin. For videos I use Media Player Classic Home Cinema or VLC

C&C First Decade under DOS
Tore replied to kerl's topic in The Ultimate Collection / The First Decade
By default the TFD install folder is a bit messed up and might cause some problems there are tools to fix that like the unofficial 1.03 patch for TFD or Nyer's clean up tool (which the TFD 1.03 patch includes). The easiest way to play C&C is to download Nyer's standalone DOS install: http://nyerguds.arsaneus-design.com/fullcnc/cncdos_3lan.rar and use that as a basis for your install. It even includes most versions of the game with cnc_e122 being the latest version. Music and movies can be downloaded from here: http://nyerguds.arsaneus-design.com/fullcnc/media/ -
Installing on Win10
Tore replied to SatansApostle89's topic in The Ultimate Collection / The First Decade
You must be horribly confused. We are not attacking you, you have just downloaded the wrong things. The CnCNet versions or Nyerguds' version has no "EVA installation" window. It sounds like you are trying to install the game from an iso file or the original CD's which is hard if you don't know what you are doing. Download this: http://www.moddb.com/mods/command-conquer-unofficial-patch-106/downloads/cc95-v106c-revision-3-full-game-installer which is the full game in a custom installer ready to go for modern Windows, even Windows 10. Then download this if you want cutscenes: http://www.moddb.com/mods/command-conquer-unofficial-patch-106/downloads/command-conquer-english-videos-base-pack For Red Alert you can download this: http://funkyfr3sh.cnc-comm.com/ which is the same but for Red Alert. -
Installing on Win10
Tore replied to SatansApostle89's topic in The Ultimate Collection / The First Decade
The CnCNet versions of the freeware games work just fine on Win10. No need to mess around with isos or discs with them either. Though RA2 and above can be a bit tricky. -
[OBSOLETE] Red Alert 2 & Yuri's Revenge Windows 8 / Windows 10 Fix
Tore replied to Sonic's topic in Red Alert 2 / Yuri's Revenge
That is not limited to the Origin version. Alt-tab is broken by the "8And16BitPriSync" flag used in the compatibility database. Disabling this flag might degrade performance, but alt-tab might work again......- 8 replies

Can't run The First Decade properly on Windows 10
Tore replied to chimekolover's topic in The First Decade Patch 1.04
Try to run RA2.exe directly from your RA2/YR folder. Sounds like the exe file your search finds is one not in it's proper folder. -
Zero Hour C&C Tiberian Dawn Redux Patch v1.42 Released
Tore replied to Sonic's topic in Command & Conquer News
It's the second patch for 1.4, not for TDR in total -
Was there a Sonic Tank in TD?
Tore replied to ApornasPlanet's topic in Command & Conquer / Covert Operations
Sounds more and more like Dune 2 or Dune 2000 Nyerguds' patch doesn't change gameplay or add new units. -
Was there a Sonic Tank in TD?
Tore replied to ApornasPlanet's topic in Command & Conquer / Covert Operations
No, disruptors were introduced in Tiberian Sun. Though sonic tanks do exists in Dune 2 and Dune 2000. -
Yes. Many anti virus companies flag new or "unknown" software as malicious even though they are not. This is a pretty half assed way of protecting against new malware that harms many developers and potentially the AV companies themselves. People are told constantly told detections are false positives all the time this causes a loss of trust in the AV programs. Anyways. The latest version is: http://tore29.com/tsins/TSinstaller3-beta11r6.exe (No anti virus should have issues with this one according to VirusTotal) http://tore29.com/tsins/Info.txt (always the same link)

I'm going to buy it once the prices go down a bit.

Remembered wrong, it's a rave gun, not a disco gun. It's found on the first American mission.

Battlezone 1998 is one of my favorite games. It is a nice blend of FPS and RTS and it has quite decent 3D graphics for 1998. Nice to see that they have released a remastered version on Steam. The secret disco cannon was the best.
