rEdaSbLood 1 Posted November 7, 2008 didn't see a topic about it so i made one... just finished playing the DEMO and....WOW. lots of fun, great graphics, very engaging. has all the good things that Assassins Creed had... GET THE DEMO! or rather, get the damn game Share this post Link to post
Saracen 16 Posted November 7, 2008 So long as game length goes into the 15+ hour mark, I might be interested. I found the demo to be pretty damn impressive. But the problem is with games like these is that they are truly special and the finest example of their genre, but they come out at about 7 hours gameplay, and have no real replayability factor. So unless this game packs in 15 hours or more and has tonnes to do after completion, it'll be worth more than a bargin bin pick up. Share this post Link to post
rEdaSbLood 1 Posted November 8, 2008 this is true, that was one of the problems assassins creed had.... hope they know better...i trust in DICE tho Share this post Link to post
Mina Synd 0 Posted November 11, 2008 that game looks beyond trippy... yah i'm scared of heights... but the way they use the camera angles an the physics in that game. no way i could play it c.c it would just mess with my head too much... Share this post Link to post

Mina Synd 0 Posted November 11, 2008 eeeee no thanks @.@ just the adverts are enough to make my head go loopy c.c i'll pass >_>; Share this post Link to post
General Leang 0 Posted November 22, 2008 I have the demo and played the full game, and those who have maybe large TVs should play this standing up in front of it. Even when you make a small jump your groin tightens up like you are about to fall, so sadly for those like Mina this would be a game to avoid. As good as game is though, the graphics and gameplay, I do have one criticism of it and is the same problem I had with Endwar I think. The game seemed to lack character, or soul. It might be just me but it seems to be missing life to it that draws you in. Share this post Link to post
rEdaSbLood 1 Posted November 22, 2008 yea thats what the reviews said. great gameplay and all that, but lacked real story and the campaign was short... Share this post Link to post
Mina Synd 0 Posted November 23, 2008 that was the other reason i avoided it... there was a game which i was SO tempted to buy because of the unique idea and in-depth looking campaign and such... fall of liberty or something like that... (y'know, the one that had an alternate WW2 where the germans actually conquered europe and the soviet union because churchill was killed... and the story focuses on the germans invading america) it looked AMAZING. however apparently it just had so many bugs and threr were loading screens everywhere which took forever. basically lots of little tech errors which ruined an intense experience... and because the game has already been done, no-one else can try it :\ which disappoints me greatly. but yah... the whole heights thing... that's a major no-no for me xD; i remember playing garry's mod >->; people making rollercoasters then standing at the top and looking down. jesus @.@; for some reason that makes my er... rear place clench >.>; which although the whole situation makes my stomach churn, the clenching isn't all that unpleasurable XD!!!! so i have this slight sick facination with going to the top of buildings then jumping off in garry's mod o.O; (i know. way way TMI but no doubt it will give someone a laugh. because there are a lot of weird people in here o.o) ... yah i think i'm gonna be quiet now before get told off, banned or stalked o.O; anyway. the other thing i wasn't too keen on was the graphics and animation. it wasn't really realistic graphics, but it wasn't cartoony either. and it wasn't anime... so the whole game just came off to me as being kind of fake and plastic in a way that only americanized advertising can... kind of like a huge pink '58 cadillac or something. with the little wings and everything... so there's a love/hate relationship going on there o.o; Share this post Link to post
BioBen 3 Posted November 24, 2008 I downloaded the demo and, well leang is right. I got some cables and hooked it up to the fancy projedtor my famly is borrowing and Wow! I havent had my heart skip a beat while gaming for years. Share this post Link to post
rEdaSbLood 1 Posted November 24, 2008 yea grap are awesome...gameplay is awesome too. this game needs an improved version... Share this post Link to post

BioBen 3 Posted November 24, 2008 It's freaking epic, to bad we have to give it back on sunday. Share this post Link to post
Mina Synd 0 Posted November 28, 2008 hmm... epic sounds good o.o but it's only for console isn't it? o.O i'm really not fond of these next-gen console games... i loved PS2 stuff... but the new stuff... eh :\ i'd rather stick to pc... and since i'm terrified of heights it's no big loss if it's not on the pc xD Share this post Link to post
General Leang 0 Posted November 28, 2008 Well there are some truely epic games for it. Red Alert, World Tour, Mass Effect, Dead Rising. Nearly enough to pull me away from 24, Ace Combat, Eyetoy, Outbreak and Soulcalibur. Share this post Link to post
Mina Synd 0 Posted December 2, 2008 i'm pretty sure all/most of those games you said are on multiple consoles x3; Share this post Link to post
General Leang 0 Posted December 7, 2008 i'm pretty sure all/most of those games you said are on multiple consoles x3; The point I was trying to make was how we have all these great games for the system, and we have all these kick ass games for the Playstation, like if you are a fan of 24 you have to play the game. Just how it pays attention to the smallest details...Aaron Pierce is with President Palmer, a certain someone is looking up a certain someone else (pay attention between 2:00PM and 3:00PM) and Mandy the assassin makes an appearence, for Max no less. Simply the work that went into it. Share this post Link to post
Mina Synd 0 Posted December 8, 2008 meeeh. i'll still stick to pc. generally any decent game nowadays is also out on pc or will be ported to it later. so i'm really not bothered about them. aaaan don't even get me started on 24, my opinions on that series are very clear, as presented in another topic in the general discussion area... don't get me wrong, consoles have great games. but they utterly fail at RTS's and when it comes to FPSs i prefer mouse and keyboard every time... i don't really play anything else much. i guess some sport and driving games would be good on console, using devices specifically designed for it... (generally anything extra" such as steering wheels, controllers, and lightguns i consider mainly console based even though you can get them for pc, whereas big jet fighter style joysticks i tend to think of more pc based...) but i don't really play them, so i generally stick to pc. i haven't got the money for a PS3 right now, and i really don't see the point in getting a game for the 360 which i'd rather play on pc, and which i have to PAY to play online for. screw that :\ Share this post Link to post
rEdaSbLood 1 Posted December 8, 2008 i disagree. RTSs arent horrible for the console, although of course they cannot compare to their PC counterparts. and i find FPSs to be more enjoyable on the console than the PC even though there is a lower degree of control. i still pwn whether i play a game on PC or console... General Leang 0 Posted December 10, 2008 aaaan don't even get me started on 24, my opinions on that series are very clear, as presented in another topic in the general discussion area... If you wanted to perhaps sound off on the tactics of interrogation used by CTU, please do. I am actually collaborating with a couple of others to write up a critique on some of what the program displays. Bringing the game up, I was trying to give an example of one of the many great Playstation 2 games out there. Really this is as good as it gets if you are a fan, Day 2.5. Bet you did not know that Nina Myers was looking up Michael Amador when she was told about the attack on CTU, did you? And sure there are lots of games that you can get for other systems. For me though, I will always have fond memories of Soulcalibur III and Unsung War, and would say I think they are better than their next generation counterparts. As for whether PC is better than console, definitely PC. If you have a TV with a VGA port you can easily have the ultimate setup. You can have mods, the games are cheaper, they run better, but that is where part of the problem is. At the moment I would be looking at maybe $4000 for a cutting edge computer, and certainly when The Sims 3 hits I will take a very close look at investing in a system to play it. On the other hand I could lay down a couple of hundred for a Playstation or XBOX and have this huge library of games on the cheap. I could even stretch for the next gen systems for...maybe something not on PC. But I am a bit selfish that way, I want it all. The best system, computer, games, everything. Mina Synd 0 Posted December 13, 2008 meeeeh the only good console RTS's i've seen so far have been the three C&C games for PS1... maybe the N64 version, i haven't played that. cut out the video scenes but it's all proper 3d graphics o-o; but yah the PS1 C&C's had it right. you didn't have to use silly button combinations to do all the things on the control panel or to select units or whatever. you just use the D-pad to move the cursor and X to select aaaand the O button to cancel. the shoulder buttons to make teams an stuff... that was easy to do (though not as fast as a mouse, it was very easy to use...) eeeeeh yah it wasn't the interrogation i had a problem with (though now you mention it, i am against it...) but my irritation is that with a lot of the shows on at the moment... in that they make a good show then they just completely and utterly milk it. i mean i can completely understand it, it's become popular and EVERYONE wants it to go on forever... but it just winds me up. "24" was originally just that. 24 hours... now it's what, a good 5+ days total? there is only so much constant intense action that can happen to one person in a stream... why would you use a tv for a monitor though? oO; compy monitors can usually get a much better resolution and quality... they are just usually smaller. but let's be honest you really don't need a computer monitor bigger then 21" and that is a big'un... if it's gonna be huge it might as well be further away cos otherwise you'd be too close and everything would just be too oversized o-O but yah, as i've said before i like being able to update and mod my pc and games... General Leang 0 Posted December 13, 2008 Well I have my computer running through a 116cm plasma and it is so sweet. Of course you cannot sit right up to the screen but being able to play all these PC games on a massive screen, it truely is freakin awesome. I see no loss in resolution or picture quality either. On 24, if we were to take the first three seasons and the game, that covered really the whole story. There was a definite ending, there were really no loose ends that needed to be tied up. If you really needed to know what became of Mandy for example, or what happened to Kim or Chase then you could include the fourth season as well. After that, however, you could tell the writers were desperate for ways to keep the story going, and this was not only shown in the drastic measures used to shock viewers it had the characters acting in ways that was out of character for them. The finale of the fifth season sticks out as an example. Maybe Jack had seen Alias and knew what the Chinese would do to him. It still seemed unlike him to want to be killed rather than taken prisoner, regardless of how bad China and their methods of torture are. Hmm...that could be worth discussing in the proper 24 torture thread perhaps. Share this post Link to post
