Red Alert 3 Developer Chat Transcript & Key Notes

Recommended Posts

For anyone interested in reading the transcript from the recent Red Alert 3 Developer Chat that took place on Xfire this weekend, we have the very long chat transcript posted inside our Red Alert 3 Forum. If you can't read through transcript, we also have a list of key notes extracted from it. Here a few samples of the Uprising information.

  • Yuriko will be a central fixture in Uprising
  • The Commander's Challenge was inspired by the Ra1 Ant missions
  • The Character of Dr. Zelinsky will NOT be returning for Uprising
  • Frank Klepacki WILL be composing combat tracks for Uprising
  • If there is enough demand for a physical version of Uprising, then it may be considered
  • The 'Red Alert' button will only be implemented in Commander's challenge
And some information for the Red Alert 3: Ultimate Edition on Playstation 3.
  • The PS3 version DOES NOT have keyboard and mouse support
  • The PS3 version of Ra3 has many graphical improvements over the 360 version
  • The 'Unit Encyclopaedia' on the PS3 versions is a set of unit profiles that were done for the PC but never used on the X360, incorporated via a special "Extras" feature.
Click here for the full transcript and key notes list. Thanks to TX1138 for supplying us with the transcript and notes.

Wow, based on the Ant Mission? Aww, how sweet! :D

What?! Zelinsky is not coming back? I thought he will be back so that Cherdenko might take revenge on him. :(

As for Frank, I'm sure it's pleasing to see him return again. But this time, can his music GET AWAY from EA's stupid remix policy? The last songs he did for Hell March 3 ain't go all that 100% well, and moreover, Grinder 2 sucks! I prefer BRAND NEW SHINY music, no more of these so called RA2 or Yuri's Revenge-like reviving remixes! It's nice that you're trying on RA3, EA, but stop, you're not pleasing everyone so well. Westwood done it very well since RA2 came out.

Aah, it's nice to see the Red Alert button finally a go ahead, would like to give an experiment for ourselves and see if it's really worth it.

HM3 was epic. Grinder 2, not too much, but it grew on me. The rest of the soundtrack is of exceptional quality and multitude however, so we're fine whatever the outcome.

Sales will definitely fall dramatically if EA insist Uprising as a digital download exclusive. Majority of the fanboys and gamers are below 18, I don't think their parents will allow to lend them credit cards or something. We'll see about that.

As says Frank is doing the combat tracks, I doubt they would be remixed versions. But I wouldn't be surprised if he dives in the RA and RA2 archives and updates something from there.

The RA3 soundtrack is best one EALA have done for C&C game. And not just because Frank has some work on there. The tracks by the other composers are really great. Especally the Red Alert 3 Credits track.

I was afraid you're going to say that, especially I don't know what will it sound if Frank would remix Drok (Yuri's Revenge main menu music) for the Yuriko campaign. :(
