Malevolence 6 Posted March 1, 2009 Malevolence please read the Forum Rules. That's twice I've had remove your ever so subtle references to software piracy. Discussion of such topics is forbidden. Sorry mate. Was trying to convey my honest opinion but yet trying not to mention piracy too obvious, but still you got me. All I was trying to convey is I'll totally against Uprising as a digital exclusive only. Actually the two threads are one and the same, maybe you should merge these two threads. Maybe that was why I copy and paste the same thing in two threads to share my honest opinion. Once again I apologize if I really cause you too much inconvenience, Sonic. Share this post Link to post
Sonic 295 Posted March 1, 2009 So you can't get Uprising on a DVD, that doesn't mean you can acquire it via other means. Share this post Link to post
Malevolence 6 Posted March 1, 2009 (edited) What choice do I have? Seriously? EA made it clear to make Uprising as their Digital Download exclusive. I am seriously wondering why EA keeps on living its motto by challenging everything. Is it just me, or do the other gamers also find out that EA is somehow challenging customers one way or another. From a one faction campaign Kane's Wrath to a DRM issue in Red Alert 3 and the bicthing of breaking expansion sets to the current "booster packs" and now limiting customers by limiting the distribution through their Digital Download? It's really depressing to see loyal C&C fans losing interest or simply biting the bullet. As much as I like C&C franchise, my take for this is that I can choose to turn to other alternatives as a response to EA's challenge. Well that's my honest view. If you think its too harsh to see or for anyone to see by all means delete everything off. Edited March 1, 2009 by Malevolence Share this post Link to post
Nmenth 291 Posted March 1, 2009 EA being a pain is actually irrelevant the way I see it. I think there is a border between getting annoyed by a company and stealing from them, a border that puts you on one side or the other, a disgruntled customer or a thief. As for me, I have never and would never pirate software off the internet, no matter what the companies do. Even if EA made the only method of acquiring Uprising as an illegal download, I still would not be justified to steal it. Share this post Link to post
Sonic 295 Posted March 2, 2009 What choice do I have? Seriously? EA made it clear to make Uprising as their Digital Download exclusive. So because Uprising is a digital download exclusive you feel it gives you the right to steal it? You have no problems downloading it without paying, but you won't cough up $20 to download it? I'm sorry Malevolence I just don't agree with anything you have said. Share this post Link to post
Malevolence 6 Posted March 2, 2009 Due to the sensitivity of the issue, I will not continue to debate anymore. Share this post Link to post
Doctor Destiny 41 Posted March 2, 2009 Here's a thought. Download it and make your own ****ing DVD of it. That's what I intend to do. Share this post Link to post
Inferno 22 Posted March 3, 2009 Here's a thought. Download it and make your own ****ing DVD of it. That's what I intend to do. That's not the same by far. Share this post Link to post
Mighty BOB! 5 Posted March 3, 2009 Yes the debate is over the distribution method, not over what form it is in once you already have it. Share this post Link to post
Doctor Destiny 41 Posted March 4, 2009 You're whining about not having a hard copy. Make your own... >_> I don't like it either but a direct download is cheaper than a disc anyway. Share this post Link to post
BioBen 3 Posted March 4, 2009 When you make your own, you don't get official disk art, box art, manual, or any extras they might throw in. (seems like sweet **** all these days) Share this post Link to post
Doctor Destiny 41 Posted March 4, 2009 If I forked out $50 for it, I would agree with you. If I'm only paying $20, meh. I'll take what I get and sod the rest. Share this post Link to post
BioBen 3 Posted March 5, 2009 Cost is intriguing, if they offered both what would you do? Share this post Link to post
Malevolence 6 Posted March 5, 2009 I get retail, even if it cost more. I own an expensive special edition of RA3. Share this post Link to post
