Welll I watched Terminator on Tuesday and Transformers today....

Loved them both. Terminator was a solid film that lacked the WOW factor of the previous films...

T1 - Wow it's an unstoppable robot!

T2 - Wow it's an unstoppable liquid robot!

T3 - Wow this film stinks!

The concept of T4 I think was good and well thought out, but the hollywood climax ruined it. His Salvation could have been stretched over to another film, to make it less cheesy.

  • I enjoyed the homage that was done a lot subtler than previous movies.
  • I enjoyed the design/incorporation of the hunter-killer in the 4 modes.
  • I always enjoy Michael Ironside.
  • I was kinda suprised that the humans had standard military bases that were not heavilly under fire etc. It really seemed like the war was at a stalemate - which seemed kinda weird.
  • The AI needs to show more deviousness... the very concept of going back in time to kill the parent of it's nemesis is truely lateral thinking of a robot.
  • The signal was another good example of this thinking... I want to see more of this.
  • The line from T1... "Can it be killed? With these weapons I'm not sure!?!" has always intrigued me about the future... apparently human technology should have evolved in order to truely and effectively counter the terminator threat.
  • I think considering the time period, perhaps we should not have seen so many human-form robots and more of the tank-tread mobile sentry gun style from T3 and a short scene in cattle pens from T4. But then I always like the drawn out, slow reveal stories.
  • I didn't like the hydrobot - too matrixy. And what idiot would even considering hovering that close to the water!
T2 was more of the same. If you liked the firsy one, you'll love the second. If you hated the first, don't even bother with the second.
  • The same loves and dissapointments from the first movie continue onto the second film. I'm a fan of the G1 series (I own the DVD's) and I prefer the clean and clear stylings of the robot design.
  • I applaud some design decisions (ie no mass changers) but hate the complicated design which makes it difficult to quickly identify which robot is on screen.
  • Nice big explosions, good sense of scale. Great SFX, Audio etc
  • Although the film is rated M here in Australia, 80-90% of the middday audience is under 10 years, so the language, violence and sexed up characters are totally inappropriate... but I blame the parents. That being said, Michael Bay seems to try to hard to reach both age groups and misses the mark.
  • The same issue with previous movie is creation of new creation fiction... allspark & fallen. Doesn't fit in with established lore.
  • I didn't think they introduced too many characters in this film. Most of it focused on the hispanic autobot twins, Most of the new decepticons remained in their proto-form.
  • I noticed the mine-sweeper con from the first film re-appeared in the desert... tut tut tut.
  • Megatron would never serve another like he did in this film. He should have had a galvatron/unicron relationship. It would have been better if the fallen guy had a new character as his 'prophet' and megatron be the desenting/rebellious member of the group like starsceam normally does.
  • It was good to see soundwave in the film, but it's a shame he didn't get involved.
  • The forrest battle was very cool, but nothing as impressive as the Blackout desert introduction in the first movie.
  • Transformers 2 can be summed up with this short phrase {Boom} Megan fox runs and boob heave {Boom} Megan Fox runs and boob heaves {Boom} etc
  • Transformers2 is Hollywood at it's finest. It you like the summer blockbuster with big explosions then you won't be dissapointed.
Both movies well worth seeing at the cinemas, but I should point out that I can watch them at my local cinema for the cost of a new release rental which half the price of the big chain cinemas here in Sydney...

I was just thinking that the head design of the fallen character was pretty cool... and I liked the review from the white guy with glasses. If you want to fuss over movie inconsistencies he nailed most of the good ones...

hell. I would love the idea of them making cartoon movie to a live action one. the opening battle would be worth it.

Sigh. I just couldn't find the time to catch the film, so happen to clash with other unforeseen nuisances, work, meetings, some other important matters etc etc. After all the chatter going on, feel so left out. :(

I just simply wanna catch the film for the graphics and CGI! This is so driving me nuts.

Reading the plot summary makes me so glad I'm skipping this pile of ****. Maybe I'll catch it when it's on TV... maybe.

I watched the film, pretty alright, nice CGI effects.

I personally don't like the part at the last 30-15 minutes bit, it seems like the writer has become lost and start to go with the "3,2,1, set explosions!", then "run with megan fox", "insert random CGI battle and more explosion", "show the sky", repeat set "3,2,1 set explosions!", then "run with megan fox", "insert random CGI battle and more explosion", "show the sky", repeat ... until the writer finally got some fresh idea and... boom, Shia LaBeouf became conscious and Optimus prime is back alive and does the combine thingy with that plane, (damn forgot what that name was), saves the day and the nerd kisses the overated gal, and happy ever after.

Oh the Devastator with the 2 dangling balls (1 has a hook FYI) was hilarious too.

As I mentioned before, was watching this mainly for the CGI, worth it. :)

an overrated gal...

Am I the only one who doesn't think Megan Fox is all that hot? I mean, she's alright but I've heard people say she's so "OMFG HOT"... I don't see the appeal I guess.

Well I was only mimicking Malevolence's words, which by 'overrated', I would assume coincides with your opinion.

As for my own opinion, I think the whole human race is overrated, which includes Megan Fox.

So, no, you are not alone...
