EALA Have Not Forgotten About the Scrin

Recommended Posts

On the Official C&C Forums, concern has been raised that EALA have simply forgotten about major part of the overall Tiberian storyline, that would be the Scrin. As we all know now, the Scrin will not be playable in Command & Conquer 4 and only play a minor role in the story. 2POC, the assistant Community Manager, has been quick to put everyone's fears to rest regarding the Scrin.

We are fully aware that in the fiction, the Scrin announce that they would like to invade Earth again. C&C4 aims to tie together the story of Kane. As stated in several magazines, the universe is not finished.

Everyone on the boards needs to trust our developers and Sam Bass a great deal more with the story. We are all fans of the series, and are not willing to just forget about large parts of the story such as the Scrin!

I'm glad they said that (again), it seemed like a lot of people were equating the end of Kane with the end of tiberium. At least a very black and white statement like this can put those misdirected theories to rest.

Finally some confirmation on the fate of C&C. It sounds promising in this way, focusing on Kane's story arc first and concluding the Scrin arc on a later date. Lets hope they don't mess it up.

I'm getting a feeling that many people have been missing the point. Many times have EALA announced that this is the end of the Kane Storyline, not the Franchise. I have a strong feeling that we'll see a spin off in the Tiberium Universe which will follow the Scrin, and their origins. We could then go on a long journey with them, introduce new factions, Gameplay mechanics, and even going as far as to branch into other RTS sub-genres.

The idea is cliché with aliens, fighting aliens. But maybe we'll have new characters to like, stories to follow a canon to open up.

As I've been in favour of C&C 4's change in gameplay mechanics, I will also be in favour of EALA tearing the Westwood Legacy to shreds. At least that way the developers have no restriction in their effort to create something a little more fresh and new. C&C has so many chances to branch off the original tree. Tree's also create seeds which flower new trees... let it happen I say. This is technically a "Universe" after all... and so far this Tiberium universe has been stuck in just one solar system... time to expand and find out what's really out there!

lol, I think you take the term universe too far Saracen. :P But your right it would be nice to expand out a little.

I wonder if Nod will continue on after C&C4, or will they just fade out after Kane's departure. :(

If Nod disappears after C&C4, I will rage soooooooooooo much. Nod is by far my most favorite faction for ANY game

It's ok for this one, I'm fine to see the Scrin still left fresh in their minds. But the most disappoint thing I know is they keep on keeping the mutants at low profile instead of high like Westwood did with Tiberian Sun.

I'm still a wee bit dubious.

Actually I'll be even more disappointed to see Nod in the hands of someone else other than Kane.

They can end Kane's story, but they can't kill the messiah.

Second that. No hardcore C&C fans would want to see Kane literally die (for real) at the end of C&C4. It'll cause another crazy outroar if that happens.

EALA doesn't care much for the Scrin in C&C4.

I do, pretty soon in the unofficial 2nd expansion pack of C&C3: Tactius Prophecy!

Nod is quite the bad guy most of the time, I encounter numerous stories when bad guys betray each other and kill each other. I'm not sure where C&C4's Nod is going, but I hope there's at least some loyalists will keep themselves faithful to Kane despite he's working with GDI.

The lack of the Scrin in C&C4 has never been an issue for me... in terms of being forgotten. Apart from normal pacing of story... they left and they should come back... my issue is based on the assumption that Kane's ultimate plans are connected to the Scrin or the seeder race of the Tiberium.

So shouldn't they be involved more actively in the epic conclusion???
