Beta E-Mails Being Sent Now

I just got the e-mail about the beta with the download details.

 

Play C&C 4 tonight from 6-7 p.m.! Hey, that’s just 2 hours away!

 

This e-mail address has been successfully registered for the C&C 4 Multiplayer Beta! Now, please follow these simple steps to play:

 

1) Visit http://www.commandandconquer.com/beta and log in with this e-mail address (your EA Account)

a) If this e-mail address isn’t registered as an EA Account, you’ll also need to register it (on the right side of that site).

2) Accept the NDA. At this point, your permissions are granted!

3) Download the client, install it, log in, and PLAY!

a) If you downloaded the file with Internet Explorer, you may need to add .exe to the end of the file name.

When should I play?? For the next month while we remain small, we’re urging everyone to play from 6-7PM PST (California) or 18:00-19:00 CET (Central Europe). If you want to play with coworkers outside of those times, you may, but at least 4 people must be trying to play for a game to be launched.

 

This Beta test is still under strict NDA. Please do not discuss it outside of our Private Beta Forums

I've started the download of the 828 MB EXE file as I type this, but its going really slow, about 20 KB per second.

Hiya - just logged on this morning and got my email too.

Downloading as we speak (at work) won't be able to play until tonight though...

So installed correctly and I was able to log in.

 

When you press play, you immediatly go to an automatch screen. Apparently a minimum of four players must press play within 3mins before a match will start up.

 

I was just testing the game to make sure it works, so I cancelled out before it got into a game and ruined it for anyone else. Once I closed the game, it showed a link to the beta forums where I spotted this interesting sticky topic

If anyone in this group is online, send them a message and see if you can get a game going. It takes 4 people clicking "play" within 3 minutes of each other to launch a game.

 

Something I guess I will need to do. And I was wondering if/how xfire could be involved.

Can't log in to EA forums... When I enter my email and password, it returns to the forum's index, but I'm not logged in. If there is a problem with my name or password, it displays an error (I intentionally did this to confirm), but no error message when I type it in correctly.

 

I attempted to go to the beta tester's forum, but obviously as it won't let me log in, I am not granted access and it says, "Oooops.. You don't have sufficient privileges to access this forum".

 

Update:

Download/Install/First game finished...

Couldn't read how to play as I couldn't get into the beta forums...

My team dominated anyway and kicked some Nod butt...

I didn't have as much fun as I had hoped I would have...

Still couldn't log into the C&C forums at game's end when it automatically linked me there...

[email protected] forwards all e-mail to your @gmail.com account. When register for the beta use [email protected].
