Might-Bob on the other hand keeps it hard and simple

But he is right in many ways

I"m also staying open-minded for C&C4. I always have been a GDI fanboy, and so far, GDI is looking very good. The only units this far, i had to say=WTF IS THAT? was the Titan from KW, being so tiny, and that orca goofy looking rocket tank.

I must say, i first was against C&C4. But the classes system is pretty cool, and it makes sense. Especialy the support class is something that sounds like music in my ears. An advanced GDI airfleet with many diffrent planes and capital ships? Hell yeah baby!!!

I still reject the crawler system. Their are enough ways to implent the current classes system into the basebuilding, resources collecting mechanic we all know from the older C&C"s.

Population cap is also something i severly dislike. A thing i loved so much in C&C, is that you where free to do, build, harvest, kill and get what you want. Several of those things are gone now with the whole crawler system

Well Orca, many of us may not admit the new Crawler system, moreover, it is still painful to many of us to know the gameplay is a World in Conflict clone. I may not play that game but I can recognize how the gameplay is played.

Anyway, here's my shot on the questions :

1. The time of it has not been quite pleasing just yet, at least I hope EA better not end up just like Blizzard creating excuses for their Starcraft 2. Overall, it's still not really C&C just yet. Screenshot wise, can be quite convincing but many of us usually love the old ways before the franchise retires completely, it is also still sad that there's still no confirmation for the sidebar. Anyway, time is about to run out soon as now is November, few more months towards March.

And I agree with Mighty Bob, like I still said, C&C4 will be my last C&C game to play. C&C4 is not like not like the old game we love, if EA wants to solve those "noobies play online and got served and never come back again" problems, they should do it on ANOTHER RTS game, NOT C&C4!

2. At least it's fine when these mini competitions are kind of fun but short. Overall, at least is best to have a unit with creative names rather than lame names. Hammer Tank? LAME! Rhino Tank? YEEPEE FTW!!

3. It's been so long since I heard that news but never actually appear or get to see it. Well, it's best to bring in the gameplay rather than the FMVs. Because now is November, and time is running out as fans should continue to keep their faith in C&C4, not to mention "Modern Warfare 2" & "Left 4 Dead 2", without watching that gameplay trailer in time, depressed fans (including myself) may give up C&C4 and move on to something a lot more rocking such as those great FPS games.

4. Of course it is, by bringing back the old & original roots of the franchise, fans will keep their faith to remember this old franchise before it retires one day. After all, C&C & its Tiberium harvesting are founded by Westwood, not by EA.

5. Wow, I didn't expect some wants the RA3 ones to be finished. But anyway, I no need to bother those anymore. What I want to see next is, I don't know, key units of the game, Mammoth Tank, Mastodon and the engineer. But personally, I would prefer aircrafts.

6. I will be the judge of that, I know that beta will not feature offline gameplay, but I just want to play for the fun of it. But if it's really not C&C like it should be, then so be it, I can finally pull the trigger and "commit suicide". And I agree with Ryan, when it's non-C&C, it won't be fun anymore to the hardcore but forgiving Westwoodians (Including myself), and when it's not fun anymore, they might get an illegal copy or play by themselves just to finish up the story. Gameplay which looks like "World in Conflict" may not be their concern, it's the story which they want to see how it ends.

Overall, interesting Roundtable to keep me up-to-date. Thanks for the discussions, guys.

Well gameplay wise, it is now a clone of that. I never played any other RTS before, but even i could tell this was something ripped from another RTS.

What i was dissapointed of C&C3, was the not so clever though unit design.

Now i saw only a few GDI units, and a bit info of the support class, and i"m 100% sold to it!

This will also be my last C&C that i'm playing. If they ever bring out a Ra4, sorry, but im not buying it. I was deeply dissapointed bout Ra3. The unit designs where To wacky, and the allies where so Weak.

And tanks, really, Whats the use of Making a Tank wich costs more, and has less armor and firepower then its counterpart?(Talking bout the guardian tank vs the Soviet Hammer)

Its indeed early to think of C&C4, and i'm also an open minded person. But if you bring out 13 games with the concept of Gathering resources, building bases, building armies as large as you like, and then suddently implenting a whole diffrent mechanic, stolen from another RTS, probaly because it has a bit more sales rate then the previous C&C3....

Thats normal that people will reject it? Right? I remeber that video, of those C&C4 devs asking to those fans= Who dislikes our changes? And almost the entire room raises their hand...

Anyway we will see what C&C4 brings.

The connection/legacy to C&C universe is a totally separate issue IMO.

I beg to differ sir. That's like saying your circulatory system is totally separate from your endocrine system or respiratory system.

geez... I do go on and on don't I!

Might Bob - You called me "sir" and I'm befuddled...

But I think absolutely *everybody* who gets a chance to beta test the game will first and foremost compare the game to existing C&C cannon. I just think it's a totally seperate issue to what should be a bug/balance/proof of concept testing phase of the game.

.

.

.

I also think C&C4 would fail the comparison test.

:)

I got to agree with you on many things, that's why we know EA killed Westwood. For the RA3 part, I was going to expect the Hammer is the strongest MBT of the other 3, but sadly, it's the Guardian that reign supreme. WTF! NO, Soviet's Hammer can't be that weak. Moreover, Hammer is not a creative name as well as the unit itself doesn't look so bulgy & strong, the Rhino from RA2 is FTW!! And of course, it's obvious that the Soviets are all about brute force against Allied's sheer tactics, don't say Allies are weak, they are meant to be that way. For the Empire side, no comment since it's a brand new faction.

Anyway, don't worry, I join with you, I'll play C&C4, BUT only to read the ending story of Kane's vision. If there's going to be an expansion, fine, I can buy that. But if it's a RA4, sorry, I'm done with the franchise! This is it! Hence MJ's latest but last song.

Nah mate, the allies are a bit to weak. Their navy issent good, their airforce was the only thing that saved the day (wich made sense, Soviets best ground vehicles, Allies best airforce, and Empire best Navy)

But all the allied planes got so nerfed... In the last patches, i saw all the planes got nerfed, and only the destroyer got a bit cheaper. Wich in term, requires you to spam it. But if one of those Jap subs needs 8 destroyers to kill it, when it is doing its banzai charge (Not to mention the Splash damage it generates)...........

No thanks. Ra3 was a fluke for me.

I greatly hope EA is still at its Alpha stage with the unit designs, because as someone said in the Round table discussion, some of the Nod units are............well they speak for themself

Even if RA4 is going to star John Cena, I ain't buying that. I'm pretty sure RA4 maybe another WiC clone or DoW clone or whatever. But anyway, that's not ready to talk about it yet.

So for right now, I don't think they are in the alpha stage now as time is already running out, today is November, no more August or earlier months now as March is closing in in a few more months, like at least 4. And I don't think 4 months is a long time.

NSG in the Roundtable Discussion? ZOMG!!

Anyways, for that tiberium harvesting, I highly doubt if that question will be answered in either the C&C4 upcoming Q&A of the week or in Ask a Developer in BCPT25.

Maybe RA4 is in development already in coinciding with C&C4.

Second, I disagree upon the fact that John Cena will be in RA4. I rather like him to act in Generals 2, not RA4.
