C&C 4 Beta Uplink Series Part 4: Support Class

Recommended Posts

Part 4 of the Command & Conquer 4 Beta Uplink Series has been posted on the Official C&C Site. This is a regular series of articles that features insider tips on the multiplayer beta. Coverage of class-specific strategies, tier 3 units, map design, the upgrades system and much more. Part 4 takes a look at the Support Class for both GDI and Nod, with exclusive developer tips and more multiplayer beta gameplay info. There some screen shots shown in this one, but we have already seen them. However, the concept art below is new.

With the Support Class, not only can you take the fight to the skies, but you have access to a plethora of support powers to help your team mates or annihilate the enemy.

Support Class players can quickly span the map with their forces to help their allies through speedy aircraft, support powers, and destructive strikes. While the Support Class is very quick, many of their units are not armored enough to take on enemy forces head to head as easily as the Offense Class. However, teching up to tier 3 will give you access to the mighty GDI Kodiak or Nod Leviathan, the slow moving nightmares of the skies. Support Powers consume Support Points that charge up throughout the match in three different ways – naturally over time, buffing allies or debuffing enemies, and dealing damage. The Support Class has the most tricks up their sleeves, offering countless strategies to anyone who can master their massive toolset. Play as a medic and heal your team mates or build Firehawks to bomb your enemies into oblivion – the possibilities are endless.

That venom is awesome

Much better than the one in C&C3, even though they look alike.

I actually prefer the one from C&C3/KW. Sure the concept art looks good, but ingame it's just WAY to compact. Looks like some sort of hasbro toy IMHO

there is a screen of it ingame out too:

Are you sure about that? You want to say it's much WORSE (or CUTE ^_^) than the one in C&C3! If you think what you said then you are probably one of the very rare persons (if not the only one  ) who likes the C&C4 venom.

ps

The C&C4 venom more looks like a cartoony ripoff of the GDI orca than the some menacing Nod aircraft (a GDI orca toy with a wrong colors :D)

Well the missile pod thingies may be a little weird, but I think the engine looks a lot better.

I don't like the new venom, looks like they took the old one and squashed it. :P

I prefer the C&C3 venom. This venom is like a classic 95' GDI Orca with different color scheme. Hey guys, what do you think bout that UFO ship?

The classic 95' GDI orca looks much better than this C&C4 venom-toy.

C&C3's Venom is better... and I feel that the Levithan doesn't feel like a Nod kind of unit. It's just weird being UFO-like.

Actually the Leviathan looks like almost exactly like the Terran Science Vessel from Starcraft....

Me too, I felt the Venom all squashed is kind of meh. It will be nice if it fits with rocket pods like the real life Apache.

But anyway, the Leviathan does reminds me of the Terran Science Vessel. Nice work!

Heh, I disagree with the lot of you. C&C3's Venom was wierd looking tbh. This one is more "fighter" obviously.
