Nvidia is way too slow to compete with ATI this time round. They still don't even have a good dual GPU solution graphics card to compete with ATI Radeon HD 5970!

That's because ATI video cards still have full precision on speed. Nvidia still fails to get to that part. Yeah, a dual-core video card by ATI settles the spot. Now I want a quad-core video card one day that is energy efficient. :P

The technical problem to both Nvidia and ATI (unlike Intel) is the lack to make video cards eco-friendly, not being enough to save power consumption. The Nvidia GeForce 210 has a thermal power rating of 30 watts, the lowest for a recent budget video card in the field so far, and thus still didn't get an energy efficient rating.

Nvidia video cards these days are more popular so far because they are best-selling cards. Not all games that people want to play will work on ATI video cards, but on some Nvidia video cards.

What makes Nvidia sells is due to PhysX and CUDA, something ATI doesn't. All games work on either ATI or Nvidia cards. Gamers chose Nvidia because of certain game titles (such as Batman: Arkham Asylum and Metro 2033) has PhysX support that will enhance gaming experience. Another reason is for the Nvidia 3D glasses support.

lol, I'm pretty sure 99% of nvidia's market is not choosing nvidia over ATI for the glasses, since it's an emerging technology without much support from game developers yet.

People pick Nvidia because they have a perceived better brand name, after years of pwning the competition and in your face advertising.

This, and most people are reluctant to change brands when they already have one they know & trust after the above hooks them.
