Goldeneye 007 remake and Bloodstone

Recommended Posts

Activision is going crazy releasing two James Bond games in one day. If this was EA doing this, it would have been history but too bad EA is no longer licensing the James Bond franchise. And Activision is attempting history once again. Two James Bond games (Goldeneye 007 remake and Bloodstone) to be released on November 2, 2010?! This is twice better than one new FPS game!! Maybe next time for EA (if they can do it), two new C&C games to be released on the same day.

It's so sad that Goldeneye 007 isn't going to get a Xbox360, PS3 and Windows versions anyway but Bloodstone does. But what those two games have in common is that the actor Daniel Craig will be in both of those games.

Anyways, who interested in getting those games? I am for both.

Golden Eye is still the best bond game ever. And the best console fps of it's time.

Well they didn't announce the original for the Virtual Console because of licensing issues, but what about the brand new retail Goldeneye game though? That looks pretty good.

Goldeneye 007, without Rareware?

I.... don't feel confident about that. Especially since they somehow felt the need to replace Pierce Brosnan by Daniel Craig.

It's a shame they didn't stick with Pierce Brosnan.

There were a large number of licensing hurdles, which even necessitated renaming the Klobb to the Klebb because Ken Lobb (KLOBB, get it?) was one of the production staff on Rare's Goldeneye.

I'm picking this up later and I'll tell you how it goes, I used to love playing Goldeneye. All the reports so far sound very promising, except for IGN because they hate wii controls for FPS games and seem to love VANILLA DUAL ANALOG STICKS HELL YEAH over even a mouse and keyboard. They're ****ing crazy but that's a story for another thread.

Trip report! Okay, so it's a Movie Game, and it's an Activision Game, and it's a Wii Game which means third parties really phone it in usually. But, it's actually really great so far.

The controls are nice and tight and it has a good variety of presets for the remote+nunchuck, classic controller, gamecube controller, and I guess it also has setups for the zapper configuration (I can't test that one). The IR configuration is fantastic, fully customizable dead zone, turning speed, you can lock it to only turn left/right, and-- very importantly-- you can set it to both turn while the remote is off-screen and set the boundary for "max turn speed" to something other than the window edge. Rejoice, configuration fanatics.

Waggle controls seem relegated to "Punch somebody in the face" which is where they work well. You can also use the nunchuck to iron-sights, and while doing so, turning it lets you lean; most games, this works really ****ty, but the careful motions used for aiming don't overwhelm it at all, so it stays tight.

Voice work and animations are pretty great too, plus there is a lot of good audio and audio processing shown off in general. Craig delivers his lines really well, which he has kinda blown in prior games.

You can still complete a mission without doing all the objectives, but it will not let you proceed as normal if you were playing at a higher difficulty. You'll have to try again, but you can still time-trial your time-to-clear. The easiest difficulty does not need to do side objectives, just like the original.

Damage is not hyperrealistic so you won't drop a guy with one bullet from an AK, but it also doesn't take as many bullets as in the older game to drop people. You get plenty of ammunition to pick up, and there's a good vartiety of weapons and slightly modified variants of those weapons.

It is. The game is straight amazing. I played with a GC controller though so it might be different for other people.
