C&C 4 Strategy Guide: The Stealth Tank

Recommended Posts

Updates are few and far between on the Official C&C Site these days. But out of the blue, one was posted just yesterday. It's an in-depth and detailed strategy guide for the Nod Stealth Tank in Command & Conquer 4: Tiberian Twilight.

The Stealth Tank is a stalwart of the Tiberium universe, being part of the arsenal of the Brotherhood of Nod in every Tiberium game since the release of Tiberian Dawn. In each game it has appeared in, it has had the same role: a medium anti-air unit.

In Tiberian Twilight, the Stealth Tank emerges again as a medium missile tank which can target both air and ground units, with its missiles being most effective against medium air units. The stealth ability enables it to preform well in ambush attacks and in Tiberium stealing and detonating tactics. When it is not firing, it is stealthed and cannot be seen by enemy units without the presence of stealth detection. The Stealth Tank also enjoys a constant dodge bonus. Even when there is stealth detection nearby that reveals the tank, the dodge bonus remains.

This wouldn't have been useless if it was posted 11 months ago.

It's a surprise EA even remembered that the site exists. They still have a lot to do on the RA universe page, though.

"a medium anti-air unit"??

Sure, it was somewhat useful as AA, but that's hardly its main purpose... which is obviously taking out vital targets after silent infiltration.

Well. It pretty much looks like a mobile SAM site to me :P

Ugly or not, the old ones actually could live up to their fundamental purpose, this ones purpose however seems blurred. Not very Nod'ish eh?

They'll never get their assignments finished, all of these RA3 unit profiles require the dev team to think in order to write a good storyline and such, but according to the execs, these "nonsense" are just a huge waste of time & of course, MONEY, so they told them not to invest it again. Even with JVC here, I doubt about finishing those, so it's more like it's kept hanging permanently. If the franchise would to pass on to Blizzard, their dev team will finish that off for sure.

SC2's unit profiles last time was kept hanging for weeks, but when I came back inside, they did update their profiles until the whole set from the whole game was finally finished.

This one might, but that quote was referring to the past games.

I agree, wish to say more, but you all get the idea what I'll be saying anyways.

 gben likes this.

UPDATE:

I notice the guide is actually published on the GR website and re-posted as news on the official site. Still it's fairly lengthy, so I assume it's even useful.

I do dispute the notion that the Stank has always been used as anti-air tank. I think that really is a first for C&C4. I distinctly remember the feeling of surprise when I discovered that was it's primary purposes in C&C4.

So does this mean they're going to finish off the unit guide for Red Alert 3 next?! :P haha

I think someone from GR.org has managed to get access to the Official C&C Site as well as the Official C&C Facebook page, because everything that gets posted these days on either official these C&C sources comes from GR.org anyway.

This really annoyed me back when APOC and 2POC were running things. And still does today I guess. I voiced my displeasure a couple times in the past about seeing GR.org content plastered all over the Official C&C Site. I remember telling APOC and 2POC there was more to the community than GR.org.

I did said that in an earlier post in here. I doubt about them getting finished. IF of course it does get finished, I'm sure one of the news posters will inform us and I'll be happy to read all the remaining unit profiles.

Our last one was err, what unit and since when ago? Can't seem to remember.

The RA3 profiles and stuff like that will never get finished. By the time the next C&C gets announced everything you see on CommandandConquer.com right now will be probably be gone and replaced with an entirely new look site.

Besides APOC was responsible for the RA3 profiles. He put the pages together. Once the game shipped there really was no need to post more of them. We have no C&C Community Manager at all, and you want profiles for units from a 2 year old game

Lol, not me, once I read them, I can just forget about them. After all, our minds are not like computers where the stories of each unit profiles gets into a Microsoft Word file and stay in our heads forever. That just ain't gonna work in terms of how nature runs.

I highly doubt if there was a current GR.org staff member who's also a EA forum moderator.

The person who uploaded this info is EA_StoneRose, possibly an employee in EA.

To be fair, their site is really the only site that actively contributed/supported the games they made. We tend to support the franchise. So disappointing, but understandable for EALA to hang with the ones giving them the most love.

The GR guys are alright, and as far as EA's concerned its free 'new content'. Besides CNCNZ isn't totally ignored we get mentioned when the roundtables get done too.

And damn that main portal looks outdated now that there is no CM. :o

I want to read all about the Empire's main characters! :(

Well that sums up exactly what's wrong with EA's attitude... they only care about money, not peoples' expectations.

Well Nyerguds, we all don't see this coming too. After all, we all blame the dev team until Greg Black spilled it all. So it's all down to the execs themselves.

If you were a business investor, Valve & Blizzard will be your best choices.

Blizzard did exactly the same with their SC2 unit profiles though...
