Jurassic Period Dinosaur Found Alive on New Zealand

Type Tuatara lizard until recently was considered only a endemic species of lizard that inhabits the hard to reach small islands around New Zealand. However, recent discoveries suggest that the species is also located on the "mainland", and that it is not just an ordinary lizard, but a dinosaur that has remained unchanged since the Jurassic period.

Perhaps most fascinating thing is that this little dinosaur, that can grow to 80 inches long,*doesn’t have to consume water in order to survive, and he has to breathe once every hour to be able to live.

Maybe its just those properties that provide them, along with crocodiles, becoming the most resistant and most enduring species. What he really does not contribute to is the speed at which it reproduces.

Specifically, Tuatara reaches sexual maturity only after 15 to 20 years of life, a period from conception to the new heir takes two to five years. The average life span of this dinosaur is 60 years, despite the fact that they can experience even 100 to 200 years of life!

Another interesting fact related to species is that they are born with a third eye, which initially was thought to be dysfunctional. However, it grows under the thin layer of the skin on the forehead, eventually becoming invisible because the skin that covers it thickens. This is also one of the rare known species with three eyes.

For many, the existence of this kind is just another proof that there are still undiscovered species and specimens from ancient times, of which the most famous is Nessie, the Loch Ness monster.

And while there are those who can not wait to meet the aliens and their mystical culture, others argue that for such a thing we’re not ready since we have not yet discovered all the mysteries of our own planet.

I thought dinosaurs are extinct, but now the rare animal species as descendants of dinosaurs are coming back.

Misleading title... Its a well documented species, its just that its only recently been found on the mainland....

And its not 80 inches, its 80cm. They don't grow to be over 2ms, **** that would be scary. :P

"I, for one, welcome our new lizard overlords."

What is considered mainland NZ? The two biggest, main islands I assume?

The south island is the mainland, all others are inferior and not worth discussing.
