Michael Bay will Return for Transformers 4

Recommended Posts

I'm not sure if this a good or bad thing but it looks like Michael Bay will be back in the directors chair for Transformers 4. A lot of fans don't like his approach to the Transformers movies, for the most part I enjoyed the first 3, but do I hope they darken and take a more serious approach in the 4th movie, kind of like Chris Nolan does with his Batman movies. But as long as I get to see giant robots kick and beat the **** out of each other I'm a happy Transformers fan.

Transformers 4 is expect in June 2014.

HOLLYWOOD, Calif., Feb.13, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Paramount Pictures announced today that director Michael Bay has signed a two-picture deal with the studio, which will commence this spring with the filming of "Pain and Gain," and will be followed by the next installment in the hit "Transformers" franchise.

Based on a true story, "Pain and Gain" follows a group of bodybuilders who engaged in a campaign of kidnapping, extortion and murder in Florida. First told in an article from the Miami New Times, "Pain and Gain," will be directed by Bay and will star Mark Wahlberg and Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson. Following "Pain and Gain," Bay will bring audiences a new take on the "Transformers" franchise as he begins production on the fourth installment in the hit series of movies based on the best-selling Hasbro toyline. The third, and most recent installment of the franchise, "Transformers: Dark of the Moon," is the fourth highest global grossing film of all time with 1.124 billion dollars of worldwide box office success. Directed by Bay, the movie will re-unite the filmmaking team from the hit franchise, including producers Lorenzo di Bonaventura, Don Murphy, Tom DeSanto and Ian Bryce; and executive producers Steven Spielberg, Bay, Brian Goldner and Mark Vahradian. Paramount Pictures will release the film on June 29th, 2014.

"Michael has been working on PAIN AND GAIN for a number of years but has patiently waited for the perfect casting to trigger a start," said Adam Goodman, President of Paramount's Film Group. "Clearly his patience has paid off as we couldn't be more excited about this combo. His passion for this project is just awesome."

The first movie is okay.

The second movie is decent.

The third movie is a little better.

Still the good old days when critics still criticize Michael Bay for directing and handling a direct cartoon to motion picture movie. As long the series is okay, it can continue. It's only the music and action that's great.

Reserving judgment for this one, but if it's anything like the last three, it's going to be a pile of vomit with a shiny coat of paint.

So the main stars are getting replaced? Well that can't be a bad thing. :P

Wait, what? O_o

I thought Bay said it was over after 3. Heck, even the actors and all the crew and the writers said there would never be a 4th movie. Now I'm just confused.

Would the fluttering sound of several huge piles of money clear your confusion? It did there's.

Everyone man has his price. Paramount must be giving a **** ton of money to Bay for this movie. Dark of the Moon made them a massive worldwide profit so its really no surprise they are doing a 4th installment. Apparently Bay and Speilberg have already discussed a possible new direction for Transformers 4.

I'm guess it will be many new actors for the human cast. Shia LaBeouf has already said he won't be back. But one rumour was Jason Statham is to be cast has the new human lead. As long as Peter Cullen returns again to voice Optimus Prime, that's all I care about.

And since Megatron was finally killed now's a good time to bring him back as Galvatron, there's your new villain ;)

Transformers are no match for the imperial army. Michael Bay is part of the Rebel Alliance and he will be crushed.

Third one was decent? Wow. I thought it was absolute garbage. Sure, it looked nice, but its story and the way it progressed sucked. All the little kiddie robots pissed me off too.

The first one was definitely good, was it maybe because I never saw the second?

I'll still reserve judgment because I'll still go see this most likely.. stuff blowing up = win. I just can't help being male..
