Plok 319 Posted February 19, 2012 Something I've complained on ages ago and no one listened... Share this post Link to post
Sonic 292 Posted February 19, 2012 Please learn to start a new threads about the issue your reporting, not just tack it on to another thread. Anyway. Yeah I know of that problem. Have known since this version of the main was introduced back in late 2009. I have no idea how to fix it. I see your blocking the ads from showing, that's fine, your well within your right to do so, but I'll think you'll find allowing the banner to display actually fixed the menu/slideshow from overlapping. I have an improved version the slideshow script that I have yet to try, I was saving it until feel inspired to create a new look layout but it could easily be patched into the current site I guess. Sonic 292 Posted February 19, 2012 Its because your blocking the banner ad guys. If I knew how to fix it I would have done so ages ago. Share this post Link to post
Doctor Destiny 40 Posted February 19, 2012 Is the third banner a Flash? Maybe make the z-index on the menu higher? Share this post Link to post
Guest Rabbit Posted February 20, 2012 Way I see it, our ads help us generate money. I don't think it should matter, as they're a critical part of what keeps this site running. Why should we cater to those trying to circumvent them? Share this post Link to post
Plok 319 Posted February 20, 2012 Why should we cater to those trying to circumvent them? Correction: Why would we cater to every Firefox user? Share this post Link to post
Sonic 292 Posted February 20, 2012 Is the third banner a Flash? None of the slideshow images are flash. Just static jpg images. The drop down menu works perfectly well when flash animated banners display on the Google ads. Maybe make the z-index on the menu higher? Come again. No idea what you mean Share this post Link to post
Doctor Destiny 40 Posted February 20, 2012 Correction: Why would we cater to every Firefox user? It's called disabling ABP on the site so... nice try, but you failed. Come again. No idea what you mean CSS. Share this post Link to post
Plok 319 Posted February 20, 2012 There. Disabled it on cncnz.com and forums.cncnz.com. OK? OK. Nearly forgot what it looks like when there's a local market chain or an untrusted webhosting site advertising itself below the CNCNZ logo. Share this post Link to post
PurpleGaga27 37 Posted February 20, 2012 I don't have this problem on both Chrome and Firefox. Share this post Link to post
Guest Rabbit Posted February 20, 2012 I'm a firefox user and I don't use adblock. Whabam. Advertizing supports websites. Sure, it's excessive on SOME websites, but I refuse to believe that one site should change it's coding to aid the people trying to block their ads. Share this post Link to post
neogrant 4 Posted February 22, 2012 (edited) Z-index has something to do with it like Doctor Destiny mentioned. http://webdesign.abo.../a/aazindex.htm http://divitodesign....ments-with-css/ Edited February 22, 2012 by neogrant Share this post Link to post
