Battlefield 1942 free on Origin

Recommended Posts

To anyone who has Origin, EA recently rereleased the original Battlefield 1942 for free. Its in the demo section but it is the full game. Works really well.

If this is true, Activision had better release the original Call of Duty for freeware soon. :P

EA, what about a freeware of either C&C Red Alert 2, Renegade or C&C Generals?

Gonna try this some time later.. BF1942 was an excellent game, but requiring Origin seems a bummer.. Another marketing ploy I believe.. Oh well..

That is what freebies are, companies don't just give stuff away out of the kindness of their hearts, regardless the occasion.

True.. Freebies are still supposed to benefit the company, no matter how little or big; but there are times they primarily give out as a way of thanking (and not just simply a masquerade) the community (though such acts are still to benefit the company and / or future products).. And no, I'm not saying EA is being deceptive by making BF1942 (base game) free on their Origin platform or their act heinous..

I never really liked 1942's expansion packs. I played the base game a lot more than the I played them.
