Command & Conquer - Free to Play Generals Artwork

The recently released Command & Conquer - Free to Play Developer Diary called "Beyond the Battle" included a collection of artwork revealing some of the new Generals. In case you missed them, here they are, taken from HD version of the trailer.

We don't have names for these Generals just yet, so give us your best guesses as to who you think is Airforce General, Tank General etc....

Second row: EU support/stealth, APA infantry/special forces, GLA stealth/demolition

I can believe in women joining the GLA, even young blondes who take the time to neatly apply brown nail polish, but I doubt they'd become generals. I think she better fits the profile of a rebel wannabe who they'd use as cannon fodder.

It may seem unrealistic to you Nmenth but from a marketing point of view its probably a good idea to have some strong female characters these days. And hey, girls can do anything you know

I'm not saying there can't be female generals, I know they need to appeal to the teenagers' hormones and politically correct. The two female generals they had in Zero Hour were believable, this one is not. She is way too young and pampered looking, she probably gets a weekly manicure and likes Justin Bieber.

The APA guy is either trigger happy or doesn't give a **** about gun-safety, which is evident from the position of his trigger finger, unlike his infantry specialized counterpart from the EU (I guess).

And cut the GLA girl some slack, she's got a bag full of explosives so don't bad mouth her heheh... That being said, she looks more like a "hero unit" that a general, but the GLA doesn't strictly have to have commanders with the general title, so she could easily be a field commander/operative that people have accepted as a leader. Add some "oh no I've been angry at the world since my parents were killed at a young age and I've been training since blablabla" classic leader uprising in harsh conditions story clichés and she's up to the task as a leader in no time.

I think he means the fact that his finger is on the trigger even while pulling the slide back.

Any movie or series that is not hyperproduced (for example, Fringe) has characters that do not place their fingers directly on the trigger at all - instead, they are to the side of the gun like in the EU infantry(?) general. All others can be considered maniacs

You place your finger on the trigger only in situations where you need to be ready to actually shoot. People who don't place their trigger finger to the side of the weapon (trigger guard) and don't practice that sort of thing are more likely to fire off a shot simply by being nervous, gripping the handle in a hurry and shooting the floor or their own leg for that matter. Your body doesn't learn not to squeeze your trigger finger with the rest of your hand when you grab a pistol/rifle/whatever if you don't practice never putting your trigger finger on the trigger. I've see some "accidental shots" happen because people don't have the motor skill memory in their hand which I've just described. But this is all off-topic. And yes, the APA guy is pulling the slide back while making a rookie mistake... that's a no-no.

To clarify, I think the developers want to explore the GLOBAL aspect in this 'universe' and not just rely on the middle-east stereotypes of previous game.

 

And Nmenth, judging your enemy on the basis of their looks is the LAST mistake you'll ever make...

Don't underestimate the GLA based on simple visual observations, or anyone else for that matter.

There's always a lot going on in the background... probably.

 

The GLA could easily have decoy general-looking people for all we know and keep it's leaders dressed as simple rebels.

Like I said, I don't judge how much they deserve to be shot by their looks, so I'll shoot the simple rebels too, possibly even before the maybe-generals if the rebels have bigger guns.
