Ben Affleck has been named as the new Batman. Taking over the role from Christain Bale. Ben Affleck will play Batman/Bruce Wayne in the untitled Superman/Batman movie.

Ben Affleck is Batman.

The actor will replace Christian Bale as Bruce Wayne in the upcoming untitled Superman-Batman feature for Warner Bros., the studio announced Thursday.

 

Affleck becomes the eighth actor to play the Caped Crusader, following Bale, George Clooney and Michael Keaton.

 

We knew we needed an extraordinary actor to take on one of DC Comics most enduringly popular Super Heroes, and Ben Affleck certainly fits that bill, and then some, WB president Greg Silverman said in a statement.

 

Directed by Man of Steel filmmaker Zack Snyder, the Superman-Batman feature will open worldwide on July 17, 2015, with Henry Cavill, Amy Adams and Diane Lane reprising their roles.

Ben provides an interesting counter-balance to Henrys Superman.

I'm okay with the new actor playing as Batman which isn't a bad choice, but I never imagined Ben Affleck acting as Batman.

I think we should reserve judgement. I know that when I heard Heath Ledger was going to play the Joker I thought it would be a HUGE joke. And he turned out quite good.

I'm ambivalent on this one. I don't like Affleck much but he does have his moments. Loved his performance in Dogma so... I'll just see how things go I guess.
