For people waiting to see if WIndows 10 get better and then buy it, things don't get any easier. It just got worse (An edit update, not all versions will be affected however):
https://www.pcworld.com/article/3252103/windows/microsoft-making-windows-10-s-default-with-new-versions.html

Putting Windows 10 S by default to all existing Windows versions in the future could blow up Microsoft big time, only to use the default Universal Windows Platform apps (known as UWP) and locking out traditional executable (exe) programs, unless you pay to upgrade back to Pro or Home version, even after you upgrade your existing Windows 10 to the latest version.

The problem right now with UWP is that Microsoft still failed to become what Android can do, they should not compete with Chrome OS with limited features and has apps restricted to that platform feature, and not many software companies have attempted conversion to UMP yet. Trying to convert existing 32 and 64-bit executable programs into UMP aren't easy (and there isn't a simple tool to do this) and all of that must be done on a 64-bit PC. To make the UMP useful, first fix the fucking Windows Store!

Windows 10 S is a decent idea. It will keep a lot of bullshit from infecting PCs. The average user probably doesn't need much more than Windows Store apps and anyone who does will be smart enough to know what they're getting. Granny doesn't need 10 Pro - S would be fine to send email, type documents and browse Facebook to communicate with the grandkids. Though, I'm certain there's a way around any blocks. I'm using Pro anyway and there's honestly no reason for Home to exist.

At the end of the day, the idea behind S is a decent one. Knowing Microsoft though... they'll manage to fuck it up completely.

I would think so, converting software into a submachine gun sounds pretty hard.

The next major Windows 10 update will now include a shorter time installation when upgrading. That should have been implemented before in the Anniversary Edition!

Windows 10 April 2018 update has been released. Not interested in this update though since it only brought limited new features.
