Throwback Thursday for 21st July

Recommended Posts

For Throwback Thursday this week we continue to look back at the iconic units, and what is more iconic than Nod's Flame Tank from Command & Conquer 3: Tiberium Wars in 2007. Brute force, combined with deadly flame turrets. Infantry never stand a chance against the intense heat. Especially effective for clearing out garrisoned buildings. The Flame Tank has been a main stay of the Brotherhood's arsenal for years.

Remember, you can click on the preview to see a larger and more detailed image. Don't forget to check out the Throwback Thursdays archives if you've missed a week. Check back again next Thursday for another Throwback. Send in your ideas for future instalments. We also encourage you to share this on social media using the hash tags #ThrowbackThursday, #CnCTBT and #CNCNZTBT.

Could never decide whether to hate or like this unit. The fuel tanks look awkward and unnecessarily vulnerable, and the garrison-clearing mechanics in TW were so overpowered, it made putting troops into a building more of a detriment than benefit. But despite that, the flame tank was still so fun to play.

I always underestimated this thing's damage output, then I'd see a commentary or two where it incinerated almost everything around it (especially when used by the Black Hand faction).

You can only hate it if you're the one it's burning, methinks :D

Yeah I would have preferred a 'soldier by soldier' clearing mechanic rather than whole building.
