EA & Westwood

I am kind of surprised that many people doesn't like EA. Personally, I thought most company even westwood do it for money. Back then, after the success of the original C&C , westwood keep coming out a lot of games that is not sequel Command & Conquer like the covert Operations, Counterstrike, gold edition. All this games is merely improved graphic, a few added mission from the original and each costs about $40-50. Some of us really being fooled by it, thought it is another expansion pack but not. Also, RA 2 is completely different from the original RA. (you know what I mean).

 

I really love tiberian sun. But the expansion pack really doesn't have much story in it and also doesn't add much with only 18 mission and no improvenment over the original C&C. I think its time they should find someone to make it better although I never like EA games.

 

This is only my opinion. Sorry about my english. I am from Japan now studying in canada.

Agreed, but at least some companies do things for loyal followers like us. Westwood was a good example of that. I loved EA back in the days of Desert and Jungle Strike, but then they got greedy.

Westwood and Petroglyph are all about the games...

 

The ladders and the online community in general was great when Westwood owned it..

 

But EA dont seem to give a crap....

Yeah, but sincethis guy has already made a this thread, why don't we post some here.

 

And I'm agree with Gaz. Westwood did their best for games, you can see the difference between Westwood's CnC games and EA's Generals Zero Hour. It's very different, from the installation, storyline, etc. When Westwood still rule the CnC games, the installation looks so cool (especcialy Renegade), but when EA made Zero Hour, the installation sucks.

 

So, the consclusion is that Westwood is more creative in making games than EA.

EA seems to focus mainly on there sports games, and doesn't seem to give a crap about any others. They were probably making Generals before they took control of C&C and then slapped C&C in the name to pray off of loyal fans to the game. When you think about it, Generals has as much in common with the original games as they did with, say, Ages of Empires.

comand & conquer game like tiberian sun and its expansion pack was rushed into production. Lots of stuff was never included and the game was delayed for so long. Then, by the time its release, there are lots of problem with games (bug).

Buggy but still great! They had to work with what they had. If a big company like EA were to truly focus on the gamers, imagine what it would be like.

People will praise EA I think And EA reputation will grow significantly greater than ever before. Unfotunately, EA is most likely to focus on money and sport games. Not an RTS or action games.

lol NFS Underground is pretty good, but I don't like sport games very much, I more like LIVE sport than playing football through PC game, that sucks.

I don't wnat to bother EA. Lets just leave 'em. It's their problem. Maybe, a goody new EA President will take the throne someday, someone who is a true game lover, not a money thirst person.

That won't happen. Gamers aren't big enough suckups to get handed a company. Big companies are always given to the one who sucked up to the last boss the most.
