I got another question.

Does anyone know how to convert the .vqp video files extracted from the C&C games via the XCC program into, say mpegs? I've found alot of vqp's from the original C&C and i think maybe in TS. I'd love to be able to see all the cutscenes again.

In the XCC mixer it gives you the option to copy as AVI.

Just do that. Then convert the AVI into a mpg. I'd recommend converting into wmv. Better compression. Smaller size.

But thats bout the only way I think.

I don't think you can straight out convert a vqa file into something else.

I'm able to extract and convert video from the original C&C... the tools work for me. It's probably because I have a newer version. If you like I could send you the converted files that you want.

Well, the VQP files are not video files, they are video add-on files. They need to be used together with the low-res VQA to make a higher resolution possible for the Windows version of the game. Or so I'm told / have always understood.

yep. VQP files are only found in C&C Gold (not in DOS C&C), in one of the update*.mix files in the game directory. The actual movies are in movies.mix on the CD's... and they're VQA's all right.
