i think generals should have walls and gates just like on tibsun.

lol yeah u might need to ajust the AI a bit to know what to do when it has walls in its build list and when it has to get past walls maybe bring in a dozer to knock them down or use tanks to be very realistic about it

There are gates, but they aren't buildable. Besides, Tanks and Humvees can knock them down anyway. Walls are an unnecessary part of the game, in my opinion. In all honesty, an infantryman could probably climb over it, or a rocket soldier could blow a hole in it. Gates would be cut or run down. They're not really needed. (Then again, chinooks would make them easy to "traverse" anyway, so I wouldn't be too worried.) For me, it's just not worth the trouble. Stick with base defenses.

i had thought about putting walls into a mod im working on. let me know what you all think. also if you want to have your input used in the mod and get your name in the credits of the game contact me personally. tell your friends to tho the more the better. (for the record no money involved, i code for the art and fun of it nothing more)

Walls? Walls are almost totally useless. Though they can stamp out Colonel Burton's C4s still long-range attacks get through. And if you manage to kill the units using long-rang attacks you can't repair it cause your worker or dozer can't get near the building. :roll:

Walls are never useless. Good way to keep buildings from being captured.

Generals should have them, at least to pay homage to the other C&C games.

Walls can also be used oreate strategic choke points to concentrate your defences. They can of course be destroyed and bypassed, but they woul be invaluable against China's Infantry General.

To be honest, I'd think they'd look crap. Unless of course, a lot of time went into them, I dunno, I just can't imagine a wall around an airfield, it wouldn't fit.

At least it keeps it from being captured. It's functional, not fasionable. Did it look that great around the power plants in RA2?

Only thing I ever put walls around is my Con Yard... and maybe my superweapons... and gap generators... Okay, so walls are pretty usefull.

If you didn't realise already...Walls are in the FactionBuilding.INI ;)

Time consuming but keeps buildings safe from capture. Plus can buy enough time for you to get reinforced.

I have been thinking about this, how about a wall deploy function, and you could use the walls like on the Strategy centre?
