Yea, so i havent been around for a while because my attempt in sleeving my computers power supply ending in melting plastic and smoke. Im waiting for seaconic USA to contact me about my RMA. but im thinking of just buying a new S12 380watt PSU. And well i have been reduced to a <28.8 connection and its killing me.

Why not yank the modem out of your computer and use it to replace the 28K one?

 

When my set top box got fried I just took the dial-up modem out of my old computer and put it in the new one. (Cable modem is in my set top box).

oh its a 56k modem in this computer it just won't connect higher than 28.8.

 

I have a picture of the melted wires, i'll dig it up after work.

 

My friend walked down staris right after it happened and was like "whats that smell."

 

Seasonic S12 series PSUs just became available on newegg, so i think im going to buy one of them in the up coming weeks.

I've had a friend who's TV went up in smoke... OK I lie it burst into flames, dunno how, but he had mashmellows in his room, so he opened the window and started putting them over this nice flame that was roaring quite happily from the back. :roll:

And then he died from all the chemicals from a burning TV.

 

I have to addmit, the image of one my friend roasting marshmalows with a burning TV in his room almost put me on the floor.

 

Speaking of burning stuff, one of my neighbours last year had a VW Bug fit with a nitrus booster for street racing. Two days later, he left the engine on for about 5-7 minutes while he ran inside to get something. BOOM!

 

OK so it didnt blow up, but the engine and paint just burned. Then the little red fireengines came with the fire dudes and extinguished it. The end.

I dont burn everything.............just some stuff. Mostly paper, wood, and few random bits of trash. Around middle of July every year I melt plastic bottles into a blob for soome reason. But I dont actually burn that much.

The PC is giving me a bit of jip, I finally caught a Virus which was in a system folder... even though I got rid of the damn thing the PC was not running right. It affected internet performance and the whole works.

 

I've been unable to send e-mails, but have been able to download them, which is kinda strange. But anyway I'm back on, just gotta retrieve a few things then I'll be back in business
