Fen you sure hit the nail on the head about the n00bs cheaters and hackers. I got wiped 2 days ago, and got made fun off for it. They said no rushes, so 5 min into the game about 70 Grizzlies and 40 Seige choppers came knocking on my door.

 

Why doesnt WOL have protection against that stuff? Cheating and hacking?

EA gives less than ****s about WOL. They just keep the servers up.

 

Mod update: Patch support is being removed. Too much random crashiness involved. However, it's very close to being completed. Just stay with me.

well, the 70 grizzly thingy has not happened to me. Though many times i am baffled at how the enemy players have such a large base in such a short time, and are already have 5 BFs and several prisms when I only have 1 BF out. Sure, most of the time they expand out their base and take all the derricks, and it might be justified in some cases, that they're not cheating, but I still think most of time they're cheating when it happens.

 

I think they dont use big cheats, just more subtle ones like halving build times.

I got my revenge today on against somebody. I thought I was lucky to get a free Nuke strike crate, but then I get another in less than 2 minutes!!!

 

 

That dude never recovered from that, and my prisms were finally able to wear his defenses down enough so my paratroops could get in a do some damage.

 

And cheating is a major major problem on WOL. Cant ever get a decent game in nowadays. FOund one kid there who is a real rookie, so I play with him against Brutal AI to help get his base building strategies in order. But other than him and the CNCNZ people I play with, pretty much every one else is either total n00b or cheater/hacker, or most likely, both.

Nukes in crates? Were you playing a mod or something? I've never gotten a nuke in a crate, but I have when I play the DeeZire mod. Man that was fun. Best AI ever!

Cheater hackers suck arse. I'm still to find a decent game of YR or RA2 online because everyone seems to perform a noob tactic like a billion terror drones to wreck my units followed by kirovs to destroy me or whatever the allies equivalent is.

its not a mod. the chance is like 8% or something that u will get a nuke crate however

Nuke crates are not in standard Red Alert 2 or Yuri's Revenge.

It was a mod map, cause Howitzers were in it too...but that was about the full extent of the mods. At least to my knowledge.

I hate mod maps too. They're usually pretty ghey.

Ah, I remember back in the day of TibSun, some mod maps were awesome. My fave map of all time is "Mission Impossible 3"; super fast RPG towers and unlimited firestorm walls - you had to be careful to not wall yourself in otherwise it's game over for you! :lol:
