Wildshield 0 Posted June 10, 2005 The first movie was very good. Even if you didn't follow the game it was based off. The opening is the awesome, Fenring you can tell me that it wasn't (holding hands on ears). The second sucked very much. It referred back to the first movie too much. Too many visuals from the first movie of the same scene. There were about 5 segments that were very good. about 24 mins worth. The assault on the STARS members was great. But being the directors first movie... it didn't flow all that well. He should have worked on the storyboard longer before shooting. Share this post Link to post

Saracen 16 Posted June 10, 2005 Movies never really do the games justice... Thus is the reason that Westwood probably ignored calls to create a C&C movie since it is a potentially risky game to play. Sure it might of worked since war movies extend beyond just this community. But I think the fear of milking the franchise, plus the extreme cost of the movie to create such a project would of been enough to keep the idea just a dream. Share this post Link to post
Mina Synd 0 Posted June 11, 2005 Personally i didn't like them too much... the virus's were designed to mutate and corrupt - not create super beings like Alice... being a heavy fan of the S.D.Perry Resident Evil storyline, the movies make no sense historically... however as stand-alone movies if you forget the games/books existed - they were pretty good.(same with the resi evil game; Dead Aim... good as a stand-alone but makes no sense historically) I Loved the Stars shoot-out on the street! one of my fav zombie fight scenes ever (horror fanatic speaking here xD) Though as an honest opinion the only things i liked about the two movies were the attempted resi evil references... y'know, using the Tyrant varients, STARS, the "Red Queen" compy system (though in the games and books the name is never mentioned, we do find out it's Spencer's daughter i believe...) That was a real "*giggles like schoolgirl* i know the history behind this character!" moment Share this post Link to post
Publix666 0 Posted June 12, 2005 im up to book 3 in the RE books lol....they are VERY awesome.....and i agree totally...the moves are great stand alone....but the director said he didnt want to make them like the games...and thats why there are very fre refrences to the games..watch the commentary on the 1st movie....i belive he tells why the movies arnt like the games..i dunno havent watch RE1 in a while... oh...and Fenring...ive beaten RE4 already :wink: but i aint gonna ruin it for ya Share this post Link to post
