I don't know where you get your information from Sparky, but C&C: Tiberian Dawn does not require a CD Key to install or play. Because Westwood has been disbanded and Virgin Interactive no longer publishing C&C games, Tiberian Dawn and Red Alert have become abandonware.

It was only once EA started publishing C&C back in the Tiberian Sun days that CD Key's were required.

Once again you are wrong Sparky. Almost all of the community that have this game hold it very close to their hearts. I still play it, I play and complete it at least twice a year still. It's a game everybody still and will always play. Tiberian Dawn is a classic beyond many others, and it will always be that way! :roll:

LawyerNinja, to be honest, you'd have a hard time trying to search for copies of Tiberian Dawn since EA made it Abondonware... If you have a different operating system other than XP, you might as well download Tiberian Dawn for free, and at 26MB You can't complain at the file size..

Yep, it didn't.

I bought the game 2 days after it came out. You just install and play.

It sucks though, because I got a newer computer and I can't play it anymore, cause my comp is too advanced for the game, and it's only a windows 2000

C&C King;

Followed the above link, and it doesn't look like TD is available on Abandonia anymore. An organization of gaming companies, called ESA, is 'protecting' the game, and as I understand their explanation to be, is no longer available for download there. I decided to follow the link to the ESA page, and there were about 15-20 main homepage links (as opposed to being directly relevant to TD), the only one of which I thought would have to do with TD being Electronic Arts.

Sorry to drop this on you, but I thought it best to report my findings rather than have folks going there and being disappointed.

-Worker, overall.

yeah its protected besides 4 dollars didn't hurst plus a 3 dollar shipping cost :D

LawyerNinja;

True, true. I think C&C King is probably right about finding a copy locally (i.e. the chance you'd find it at a local software/computer store)...still, I agree that it's not a huge investment. As it is I'm happy with RA2, YR and TibSun, but if the option comes up eventually I think I might 'order out' for TD.
