I still don't get this sheep thing anyway... Is Luk3us a sheep farmer or what? :(

Since this thread will die soon I will clarify this for all..

I luk3us live in jolly old NZ.. Were we have I think its 6 sheep to every person now? (It went down)....

Now Madbadger coming from Pommy Land has a natural liking for all things fluffy... I mean that is where the term sheep shagger comes from....

Anyway everytime he reads something that either I or Acerz post he naturally thinks about NZ. With its large amount of sheep. Then he has his little fantasies...

To be true.. Madbadger is the reason why we don't want more people coming here...

He's killing the lifestock...

Just to clarify, the term sheep shagger does come from England but it is actually in reference to the Welsh, which has large amounts of sheep.

Yes, this has definately gone miles off topic. Can we get back on please?

George Bush has promised that plans will be put in place to deal with future natural disasters, but wouldn't it be easier to stop polluting thus preventing some of them?

Link to post

Yes, it would be.

But remember, George W. Bush dosen't know that, he's not -that- smart.

well, my sollution was to abandon the city, but too many people say theres too much culture and history involved in New Orleans, so it looksl ike i lost that one...

but if the City sinks anymore (it was sinks for a while a long time ago, kinda like venice) then they are gona have to abandon it or put up 50 feet flood walls built of ferocrete and titanium that would be like 100 feet wide at the base

Meh.. Abandon it move it.. Either idea sounds good...

You can't really win agaisn't mother nature.. She'll always get the better of you.. Eventually... ;)

Even cutting pollution back won't stop a ****ing earthquake or a hurricane of Katrina's magnitude.

This study in the news suggests a direct correlation between polution/global warming and the increase in Katrina-esque events.

Okay, a we can slow major hurricane growth. Wowee... Hurricanes are weak and insiginificant to other disasters past. 1905 San Fransisco earthquake is a good example, the 1880's fire in London, Krakatoa, Pompeii... Katrina fails in comparison to real disasters. Not to say Katrina wasn't devastating cause it is very much so but people make it seem worse than it is.

Yea, cause nowadays people are more easily disturbed i.e. 1,000 people killed now would cause as much disturbance today as 10,000 in the 1800's because there is more peace in the world. Just a thought

People do tend to exagerate a lot nowadays.

We havent had a major Volcanic eruption in a long time...or a real real bad earthquake....

look at how people react to curent "disasters"

It scares me to think of what they'll do if something more "real" happens

It annoys me to great ends as to why people actually live around danger zones. Hell, look at New Zealand, for example: Lake Taupo, our largest lake, is actually one massive crater lake. Which is still active, but dormant. The last major eruption, over 2,000 years ago, puts Krakatoa and Versuvius to shame. It's actually the largest eruption in recorded history. But of course, New Zealand wasn't even settled by the Polynesians/Maoris at the time.

But imagine an eruption like that today. We'd be fsked...lol...

Good thing I live in Auckland. We won't be as badly affected as the people living in the central North Island. But at least I'm not living around a massive crater lake.

it pwned Krakatoa ?? that eruption put the worl under a 3 year "volcanic" winter

not a total cloud out, btu the ash was in the air for over 3 years aroound the globe.

adn the tidal waves casue by it swamped out islands 100's of miles away
