TheBlackOut 7 Posted November 17, 2005 whats wrong with capitalism? ... When I said that it was a joke, I wasn't putting capitalism down, it brings the best out of people... and the worst... ANYWOO! When Cygnus X-1 said fascists that was a joke(I hope) and I went along with it. Anyways, lets get back on topic. Google is evil. Ever noticed evil spelled backwards is live? BWare 0 Posted November 17, 2005 Capitalism is awesome because it leverages bad things (greed, etc) into a system that benefits everyone. "A rising tide benefits all the ships," as Reagan said. There is a danger to unrestricted capitalism, where greed runs rampant, but that's where individual morals and ethics tether the system. So.... in summary, capitalism works wonders, and the CHURCH is an incredibly important part of the system  Share this post Link to post
GeneralZ 0 Posted November 17, 2005 fascists and communism doesnt work. and its been proven. China's communist but it has a open economy which is a key part of capitalism. commmunist dogs! fascist pigs! Share this post Link to post
Cygnus X-1 12 Posted November 18, 2005 captialist...er....humans ! I hate it when people try to shut down capitalism. Just look at history. Sure there have been some terrible things with capitalists. But we sure as hell didnt bring hte world to the brink of Nuclear war, and we werent starving our own people in favor of buying more nukes. Then again, capitalists did invent the nuke....but thats not hte issue at hand   Share this post Link to post
F15pilotX 4 Posted November 25, 2005 Yes, but we used the nukes to bring japan down Good use Share this post Link to post
Tree 0 Posted November 25, 2005 I'm still awaiting word the google Operating System... A little late in replying, I know. But Google's web servers do run on their own OS. It's just a matter of time before it is released publicly. Share this post Link to post

Tree 0 Posted November 26, 2005 Yep. It's been dubbed GOO-OS or GOOS (Pronounced Goo-ō-ess). From what I've heard it's not *NIX based. It's an entirely new OS. And because of the new OS, they have a custom built webserver. Google geniuses. Share this post Link to post

Alphabear 11 Posted November 26, 2005 Google Earth is just a large collection of phoographs some as old as 10 years (one of my mates owns some property nearby and that photo is 5 years old) that have been put together to make a virtual globe. Also the majority of the phootos are not from googles own satellites but other satelites such as NASA etc. Im not sure about any 'secret bases' as i dont really care enough to look for them but some residential areas near my house have been blurred for privacy reasons. Tree 0 Posted November 26, 2005 I haven't found anything like that. A blurred image and such. Well, I have found sections that were all blank, but I figured that Google just had a bug or something... Share this post Link to post

BWare 0 Posted November 26, 2005 Louis EX, then you are really, beyond a shadow of a doubt, a complete and utter moron. Geez. Microsoft Terraserver had the same pics available 5 years ago via a MapQuest like interface. They're just old geographical survey maps from NASA. That's it. In fact, they used to blur out pretty much every monument in DC including the Pentagon and White House. If you think that they have exposed secret bases... sheesh. I think Louis EX thinks he has his own personal satellite up there  The lake level behind my house on Google Earth is where it was about 3 years ago. Mr_Lee_ 0 Posted November 26, 2005 Louis EX, then you are really beyond a shadow of a doubt, a complete and utter moron BWare, you have to remember that lesser intelligence creates its own mental buffers to mask inadequacies. The intelligence will continue to reinforce their own beliefs if they think it will provide some sort of positive intrinsic reinforcement, thus making the intelligence feel greater than it actually is. Google Earth may be acting as one such reinforcement for some. Share this post Link to post
Cygnus X-1 12 Posted November 27, 2005 Google OS Good-hard to hack bad-Skynet anyone ? already mentioned but... and yes those photos are ancient. The one of my house didnt even have my house on it like 4 months ago, the photo showed it just starting under construction. Updated recently to one that it maybe 6-7 years old. F15pilotX 4 Posted December 7, 2005 Speaking of OS's, I'd rather have Linux right now than Goo OS; of course I haven't tried it yet, but still Share this post Link to post
Luk3us 63 Posted December 9, 2005 Bah Linux is for nerds only. Besides nearly all games are 100% compatiable with windows OS. Which can't be said for linux. Share this post Link to post
Cygnus X-1 12 Posted December 9, 2005 mac either although that is changing, for now windows > all (unless you are doing a movie) Share this post Link to post

The only games I know that aren't compatable with *NIX are anything that comes out of Microsoft Game Studios (Halo, Halo2, Rise of Nations, etc). Most other games are *NIX compatable. TheBlackOut 7 Posted December 12, 2005 No games is bad, but I like linux. Linux isn't that hard, unless you are totally useless at computers. Share this post Link to post
