Red Alert 3... what's going on???

In my fairly long absence from the C&C community, I've been deprived of the internal news of C&C. This thread is for discussions of CONFIRMED information relating to EA's next move with the C&C franchise. We were promised the development of RA3 a very long time ago... is it really true that that is the last we heard? If so, consider me very discouraged. Someone please tell me otherwise!

Not a word regarding C&C's future. We had the C&C 10th Anniversary and everyone was hoping for some news about it then, but nothing happened.

I think he might not be allowed to talk about RA3 yet (it might be too early). But they are still doing a lot to the series to simply drop it. I'm sure we'll find more information about it in less than 6 months.

RA3 appears to be a long winded pursuit of nothing. The King tries to coax something out of Aaron Kaufman but achieved nothing.

The RA3 idea is dead and buried I think. However I'm predicting we will see some form of an announcement for a new C&C in 4-6 months. It won't be RA3 or Generals 2, not even Twilight. It's going to be something that no is expecting at all. I might go as far to say that it won't be an RTS game either.

i wouldnt be suprised if they come out with a online RPG that has little to do with the origional cnc storyline and just stick Command & Conquer on it.

Renegade 2 has already been scrapped. Maybe there's a TS based version on the horizon... I dunno.

I sincerely doubt that they'll make an RPG... I'm thinking it'll definitely be another RTS. They've got a good stranglehold on the genre with the C&C name (that's why the acquired it), and a fairly solid RTS with C&C slapped on it is sure to turn a profit. I don't think we'll be seeing much "out of the box" thinking from EA. Genre shifting is for those crazy little companies like westwood who aren't overly concerned with pleasing their shareholders.

nah i dont think EA will do much more with the GDI/NOD Tiberian war side of things. If it has anything to do with the original storyline it will be something Red Alert so evil communists are involved. But i still think EA may use the cnc name for a MMORPG. They will probably try to milk the franchise for all its worth while they still can and with the large increase of MMORPGs on the market they will want more for themselves. I think if it did happen it wouldnt have much to do with cnc but just a millitary MMORPG
