True, but I don't like 19" screens. They seem, too big for me at any rate. ;)

I used to have a budget Tatung 17" monitor, it started to develop a few problems. Replaced it with my brillant Philips 19" super flat screen monitor in January last year (damn it's a year old already ). As soon as I started using the 19" it was so much better, clearer picture, sharper text etc..... Having the flat screen makes a big difference.

If there one thing you should not buy its budget monitors. I think its really important to have a good quality one to give you the best picture which in turn means better for your eyes.

For example, with my old budget Tatung 17" monitor I used to get sore eyes if I was working with text on a white background (in MS Word or coding HTML for the site) despite having the refresh set to 85hz. No problems since getting the Philips 19" montor.

For argument sake, what's better and why, standard CRT monitors or LCD monitors?

I feel LCD screens are better, mainly cause of the size of em'. Plus picture quality and such looks better, more sharper. But I notice CRT's sometimes have better colour quality.

Very true, but then again, some LCD's (most notibly the massive ones) are plauged by colour fading at the corners of the screen. Teh sux.

Some, but I love that they are so light! My last CRT was like 20 inches and it weighed like, here's what my dad said,(He lifts 50 pound stones all day for work so I was "zOMG!!111") "Holy ****! How heavy is this thing!?!" when we put it in the closet. :P

 I like LCD's better, but not the fact that the color screws up if u don't look at it direcly in front of you....

Yeah LCDs may be good but i dont see any good reason to pay the extra for one. I mean a 17" standard monitors are cheaper than 15" LCD one.

Yeah but i dont see it as an advantage for them to be smaller if its going to sit on a desk anyway.
