BWare 0 Posted November 17, 2005 Well I'm heading north to New York City tomorrow at 4 am, and will be there through the weekend. I'll have no internet access, but will be brainstorming story ideas, so expect some new stuff early next week. Share this post Link to post
Cygnus X-1 12 Posted November 17, 2005 Visist GeneralZ while your there and straighten out his take on the Silo continuation  Share this post Link to post
GeneralZ 0 Posted November 17, 2005 where will you be staying? BTW there are 5 boroughs. if you wanna visit, I live in southern Brooklyn. If you want phone number or adress, IM me. I could give you a guide on city. Tip on public transportation. The subway system is quite clear. Just look at the maps on the platforms or pick up one. The white dots are express train stops and every dot is local. Try not to get lost, if you do, you can ask around, but then people know that ur a tourist. Dont be very open, keep to yourself on the train. You get attention on the train when you talk cause no1 usually talks, or they do it quietly. Same for buses. Fare is 2$. Buy a metrocard at metrocard machines and put money into it. Subways only take metro cards, but buses will take exact change. Each time you swipe and use up a ride for subway, you get a free transfer to a bus. expire in 2 hours after initial swipe. Vice vesa too. Bus to bus free transfer is also ok, but subway to subway is a no-no; no free transfers on that. watch your yourself on the streets and subways, tourists might get mugged. people will know ur not a native new yorker by your accent btw. and last of all, waht are you doing in NYC? make sure you see some landmarks. visit times square. i think the statue of liberty is open now, it was closed for rennovation. ground zero is also fair game, but its not much. just a cleared ground where the towers once stood and covered by this cloth material. there are 2 big postlights that shine up in the sky where the towers stood to commemorate them, but they dont shine very often. u'll be lucky if you see them. and bring some HEAVY CLOTHING. its about to get really cold here. tommorow's temperatures will be around 40 degree F. Pretty cold Share this post Link to post
Cygnus X-1 12 Posted November 17, 2005 you call 40 F cold ? its been 25 all day here Share this post Link to post
GeneralZ 0 Posted November 17, 2005 well Bware does live in Florida which is not cold at all Share this post Link to post
BWare 0 Posted November 17, 2005 Haha, yeah... I used to live in pretty cold temperatures, but after being here for a few years, my blood has thinned out. I just can't take the cold anymore! Hey, thanks for the advice GeneralZ. I've actually been to NYC several times before (was there actually a couple months ago), and have lived in LA most of my life, so I know what I'm doing, more or less. I just know I won't go wandering into dark alleys with wads of cash hanging out of my pockets And now, to dig out my old heavy clothing... Share this post Link to post

He, I went out this morning with a T-shirt on and I felt warm, is there something wrong with me? Anyways, Bware, go drop a penny off the Empire State Building. Share this post Link to post
GeneralZ 0 Posted November 17, 2005 dont think they let you go up there. and you cant drop a penny down anyways. no rooftop viewing. ya think they;d thought that some idiot would dropp a penny and kill some1 below Share this post Link to post
Cygnus X-1 12 Posted November 18, 2005 considering that windresistance keeps the penny going slow enough that it wont actually kill anyone just leave a large dent in their heads is all Share this post Link to post
TheBlackOut 7 Posted November 18, 2005 considering that windresistance keeps the penny going slow enough that it wont actually kill anyone just leave a large dent in their heads is all All the wind would do is blow it into the window of the building across the street or something, it wouldn't slow it down. Anyways, I knew they didn't let you up there, I was just trying to make a joke, but alas... Share this post Link to post

GeneralZ 0 Posted November 18, 2005 a large dent would still hurt and put them in a coma possibly. Share this post Link to post
TheBlackOut 7 Posted November 18, 2005 ... I KNOW A PENNY WILL KILL SOMEONE IF DROPPED OFF THE EMPIRE STATE BUILDING! The penny doesn't have that much resistance if you drangle it by the rim and drop it. Also the speed of it would be so great that it wouldn't matter how it landed on someone, it would go through them.(Not fully though) 1,250 ft man... Share this post Link to post
Azrael 0 Posted November 18, 2005 Pennies are too small... A 10-peso coin might to the trick... Btw, GeneralZ, have you gone to Queens? If yes, please tell me how it is cause' I'm piqued by the fact that 50 Cent came from Queens... Share this post Link to post
rEdaSbLood 1 Posted November 18, 2005 O COOL....BWare is coming to my home city. If you want to know which borough is the best it is Queens simply because that's where I'm from . NYC RULES! Share this post Link to post

rEdaSbLood 1 Posted November 19, 2005 lol w3ll 2 me(lol love breaking grammar rules) a human is priceless due to his unconceivable potential, which I dare to question as usefully investable. OK first Queens is crowded...which based on what i know LOL every borough in NYC is crowded cept maybe staten?...w/e and 50 cent is a man of determination but there are MANY more hiphop artist that try MUCH harder than 50 cent....for example Cormega and NAS. Those two musical artist alone are enough to explain what talent Queens has, in the past, 'dished out.'(grammar) ....and this is all said on the basis ignoring other absolutely extraordinary individuals originating from Queens, NY. SoulJa 0 Posted November 19, 2005 Queens isnt too bad i wana see any of you walk through bronx in 1 piece. But NY greatest city on this earth. Also wtf you need transport? can walk anywhere in NY aint that hard. Blow the big Lady a kiss from me while your there. Also dont stand at WT gawking just be respectfull ya know? And damn it how you forgetin Biggie and Tupac from NY? Share this post Link to post
GeneralZ 0 Posted November 19, 2005 walk around NYC????? thats insane its too big...gotta take subway/bus or car. Or if ur fit and distance is not too long; bike. when look upon 50 cent as an example for determination. they might work hard, but they are should NOT BE ROLE MODELS. my role model would be bill gates or google creators or something like that, some1 in the upper classes of society, not bottom Share this post Link to post
Cygnus X-1 12 Posted November 19, 2005 modeling yur self after gansters who rap about drugs, sex, and killing, then go and get shot by another gang....... much rather go with another. Wouldnt persoanlyl pick Bill Gates though. Hes a good guy, and did an amzing job, but for me.... well, personally I prefer a less rich life. not that a little extra $$$ wouldnt hurt but ya kno  Share this post Link to post
rEdaSbLood 1 Posted November 19, 2005 yea i know 50 cent sets a crappy example but i was just saying he did what he had to do to get where he is today. not that he did more or less than anyone else either. yea and the only place i'd walk around in NYC is manhattan...no where else though id just take the bus/train or taxi. as any NYC citizen knows, there is a strong sense of patriotism towards NYC....we LOVE IT....and dont get us wrong....there are DEfinitely times where we HATE IT.....thats why its so great lol.....NY NY!!! SoulJa 0 Posted November 20, 2005 50 was safe at the begin then he just sold out and went with the corps. Hes the real deal dude dont get shot 9 times for nothing. Share this post Link to post
BWare 0 Posted November 20, 2005 ...I'd argue that "fiddy cent" was, in fact, shot for nothing. He is not a role model, and he is not a legitimate "artist." He is a thug who is, for some reason, marketable to the idiot youth of today. Listen to the song "Candy Shop" and tell me you take him seriously! Okay! End angry rant. But yes, I am back! It was awesome. I did, actually, walk through the whole city... rarely took a cab or rode the subway. I loved it. I saw the Phantom of the Opera, and my dad somehow scored third row, center seats. He has some crazy media connections... Share this post Link to post
